    One Mans Opinion

    Part I

Tuesday was the runoff election for a number of seats and Id like toget a few of my facts straight, so here goes:

There was a runoff for both the Republicans and Democrats for the

1st District Congressional seat.. Check? Check!

Buddy Carter versus Bob Johnson on the Republican side.. Check? Check!

Brian Resse versus Amy Tavio on the Democratic side.. Check? Check!

Buddy Carter won the Republican runoff and his victory was reported on the Front page of the

newspaper and continued on page 6A.. Check? Check!

Brian Reese won the Democrtaic runoff and his victory was reported on the Front.wait, wait, Brian

Reeses victory wasnt reported Front page, his win was reported on page 6A, Ron. Why was that

I dont know. Well was the coverge of equal quality and quantity? Well no Ron, Carter had

about 30 column inches of information about his victory to about 15 inches for Reese. Well why

was that I dont know. OK then, how about the size of the pictures of the candidates, you

know sometimes people only look at the the pictures, were the pictures of equal size? Not even

close Ron, in fact the picture of Jolene Byrne the winner of the School Board Presidents race was

abut 15 times bigger than Mr. Reeses By the way her victory was on the Front page too. (We really

know why, but for the sake of argument, lets move on with Another plausibe and equally obvious motive for thereporting inequitity.)

It appears we have a newspaper where conservatism trumps journalism as far as politics go. On a

daily basis, I see examples of skewed coverage on countless issues and opinions. First I urge everyone

to READ the newspaper so you can be aware of the politics going on right in front of your face. You

may not be able to change whats being written or how its being reported, but by being aware, you

can better choose how to react to the realities of the situation, be it a congressional election or a

criminal act in a certain neighborhood or the reporting of who won a little league baseball game. Pay

    Attention, Be Alert, ACT Accordingly.

    Just, One Mans Opinion.

    SUDOKU

The rules of Sudoku are simple. Enter

digits from 1 to 9 into the

blank spaces. Every row must containone of each digit. So must

every column, as must every 3x3

    square. Each Sudoku has a

unique solution that can be reached

    logically without guessing.

The Solution is at the end of the Book.

    No Peeking.
