This issue we try to get to grips with the whole environmental concern from global warming to sustainable building, and specifically what ideas can be incorporated at the design stages to make our tropical pleasure palaces a tad more energy efficient. During this research for all things green, I was reminded of a rather humorous sketch from the UK comedy series “Absolutely Fabulous” during which, the chief protagonist, Edina (Eddy), she of extraordinary bad taste in all things personal and professional is showing off a new collection of sunglasses that her PR company has won the contract to market. Her daughter casually picks up a pair and asks what the green tree logo is doing on the product. “It means Darling, that they are kind to trees”, How? responds the daughter, “Because, they are made of plastic!”
