Dave Lewis, CEO
3
18 years ago, Dave Lewis was a partner in the
telecommunications firm GVNW. With the passing of
the Telecommunications Act of 1996, Dave’s rural-
based ILEC customers were finally able to sell long
distance services. The challenge, though, was to
buy LD at a price low enough to be competitive.
To overcome this hurdle, Dave came up with a
simple idea. If the ILECs would work together, they
could create enough scale to buy LD at a better
wholesale rate — and ANPI was born.
