DETROIT, MICHIGANGREEKTOWN CASINO + HOTELThis project occupies three city blocks in an historic entertainment district inside Detroit’s downtown core. ROSSETTI was challenged to design an iconic 32-story building within a compact urban footprint while considering the heritage of the traditional neighborhood. The design solution is an architectural expression that contrasts two major forms. The design team incorporated nine types of blue glass for the facade to create an effervescent skin that reflects light changes throughout the day. Inside, exciting lobby, restaurants, clubs and public spaces compliment the theme of the neighborhood while combining trend-setting interior design concepts. The new building created a sensation for the entertainment district and has become a landmark in downtown Detroit.

GREEKTOWN CASINO, HIGH LIMITS GAMING
Fifteen years after ROSSETTI designed this Detroit Landmark, Greektown Casino Hotel re-engaged the firm to re-design their high-stakes and high roller gaming rooms to appeal to millenials while still meeting the needs of their existing customers. The design team created an upscale environment with custom lighting, jewel colored furnishings, plush seating and cage finishes on translucent glass panels paired with innovative technology upgrades. The new design reflects the level of quality and attention to detail that the Rock Gaming brand portrays.

THE ALBERT
To accommodate millennials clamoring to experience living in downtown Detroit, ROSSETTI transformed the public areas of The Albert into multi-functional spaces where residents can socialize. The lobby is now a multi-use, activated space with a living room vibe. ROSSETTI replaced walls with glass to create light-filled and transparent areas. The third floor living room and outdoor terrace are also designed to be flex spaces that can easily convert from a lounge environment to a party room, featuring cooking facilities and an indoor/outdoor experience. The Albert fills a niche market in the City that offers housing to a new and growing demographic.

DETROIT, MICHIGANMGM GRAND, TAP SPORTS BAR
TAP Sports Bar was strategically located in the MGM hotel lobby area so both gamers and families could enjoy the new venue’s many food and entertainment offerings. The floor plan was designed around the venue’s centerpiece - the central bar and exhibition kitchen. The city’s historically strong sports tradition and industrial past were the inspiration for the overall design aesthetic; recognizable design elements and materials create a venue that is both unique and familiar. The design creates a lively and open connection between the various spaces of the venue giving customers a sense of nostalgia, but also a collage of new experiences and memories.

This master plan critically examines the Greek-town neighborhood in Detroit and identifies strategic investment, infill strategies, and other efforts to build up a vibrant entertainment district. The project recognizes the need for substantial residential expansion within the district, and employs several important guiding principles in the execution of creating better public spaces. From ground floor activation, wayfinding, perceived safety, transparency, cultural programming and more, the entertain-ment district would be founded on the ubiquitous tool set of placemaking that has proven success-ful throughout the world.

HANNA HOTEL
The design team was challenged to integrate a hotel into a dense and vibrant entertainment district. ROSSETTI created a diverse program featuring multi-functional and shared space for the hotel, offices, parking structure, restaurant and base-level retail. By rotating the building tower on the city grid, it captures unobstructed views between neighboring towers. The majority of the building podium is an open-air parking deck featuring the pool and running track on its surface. At street level, a bar, restaurant, and barbershop storefronts interlock to provide easy access to retail and the activated street. All of the experiences are culminated in a roof top deck that provide spectacular views of the skyline. A variety of program elements are creatively designed into the building to accommodate the goals, while creating an iconic building for this entertainment district.

SAGE HOSPITALITY CLEVELAND HOTEL
Inspired by Cleveland’s legacy of strength of the American labor force, and history as a shipping powerhouse, the ROSSETTI team designed a complete renovation of both interior and exterior of this former Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Cleveland. With a nod to the City’s 1920s and 1930s eclectic architectural vernacular, the building’s new concept is contextual to its surroundings without being stale, a cross between industrialism and contemporary flair. Inside, a warm and familiar setting that serves as Cleveland’s “living room” is conducive to hosting conventions. Rooftop gardens provide superb views of the downtown area and serve as a unique gathering place.

JIM BRADY’S DETROIT
ROSSETTI was hired by the grandson of restaurateur “Diamond” Jim Brady to completely transform an outdated restaurant into a vintage atmosphere with modern touches for the new Jim Brady’s Detroit. The American-style restaurant embraces the nostalgia of the 1950’s with contemporary interpretation. Glamorous 1950’s era decor paired with subtle details, such as the asymmetrical hexagon tiled floor, floor to ceiling mirrors, custom lighting, and diamond patterned screens creates a swanky yet fun environment. The entire interior is rich and powerful, yet incredibly warm and inviting. The success of this metro area mini-chain has paved way to further expansions. An Ann Arbor location is set to open in summer 2016 with an additional location coming to downtown Detroit in 2017. Jim Brady’s Detroit’s Royal Oak location was voted by Detroit Metro Times readers as “Best Restaurant in Oakland County” in 2016.

VERTICAL DETROIT
Nestled in the lower level of the restored Ashley apartments in downtown Detroit’s Paradise Valley neighborhood, Vertical Detroit embodies the richness of the City’s history. The sub-level location evokes the feeling of entering a finely appointed wine cellar. The project design unfolds as a synthesis of reclaimed, polished, reused elements and materials, creating a warm, eclectic lounge that is as luxurious as it is inviting. Vertical Detroit was named as one of the ‘Top 10 New Restaurants of 2015’ by Detroit News critic, Molly Abramson, Eater Detroit, Thrillist and The Detroit Free Press. The modern interpretations of classic cuisine and engaging programming brings an eclectic mix of the knowledge of distinguished professionals and wine connoisseurs to Downtown Detroit.

TRIBUTE FARMINGTON HILLS, MICHIGAN
Balancing the desire to present the highest quality dining experience while redefining the genre with fresh design principles, Tribute employs contrast throughout its rewarding challenges. In response to its congested sub-urban setting, the restaurant looks inward: an austere concrete and metal exterior cloaks a lush interior animated by surprising colors, textures, and a spectacular open kitchen. A project that ranged from constructing a new building on an existing foundation to selecting tableware and art, Tribute succeeds in pro-viding patrons with an absolutely original per-spective on fine dining.

MARU SUSHI
ROSSETTI was challenged to design a contemporary sushi restaurant that captured the ethereal qualities of the brand, as well as the building it was inhabiting. Given the historic nature of the Federal Reserve Building, specific remnant elements were intentionally integrated for their character - the original terrazzo floor, clay fire block walls and defunct revolving door - to tell an unwritten story. The notion of a “cast net” became the driver for the rest of the design. Materials were selected and forms were developed to parallel the adjacent building lobby, but with an added layer and slight modifications to make the space unique to the client. Lights appear to hov-er overhead as if they had been caught in a massive net. The undulating ceiling correlates to the form found in the lobby, charred black to pay homage to traditional Japanese building techniques. The once defunct revolving door has new life as a unique dining booth. The 3,400 SF sushi restaurant will be the first of its kind in Detroit.

ROSSETTI designed a highly motivational cafeteria, Qzine for Quicken Loans Chase Tower, that reflected the firm’s vibrant corporate culture. The design team chose intense graphics and neon colors, personified by the video gaming culture, as the building’s over-arching design theme. QZine is designed to feel domestic, comfortable and hospitable. Favorite living spaces were developed into seating vignettes so people can choose where to sit based on their mood, activity or the time of day. Flexibility is a critical factor in the programming to allow for a variety of uses including eating, meeting, socializing and staging events. QZine has also been in high demand for party and Bar Mitzvah rental, generating additional revenue.

TROY, MICHIGAN
Continental Services approached ROSSETTI when it purchased an outdated 30,000 SF building to consolidate its growing catering business. The company had never considered hosting clients, as its kitchens were chaotic and uninviting. Through a Discovery Workshop session, ROSSETTI convinced Continental to take a strategic risk to expand their thinking and reinvent their brand and customer experience. ROSSETTI designed the space with a farm to fork mentality, which inspired the conceptual layout of the space. This new facility transformed Continental’s image to an immersive hospitality service.

The design for this soccer stadium was completed when AEG learned about ROSSETTI’s Return on DesignTM

clean, modern styling that Scandinavia is known for. An exclusive club for members-only features upscale
decor with an adjacent lounge area and is the ultimate in business entertaining. The supporter clubs are
open and offer a communal feel yet provide fanatic fans a space of their own to enjoy the game with other
members. Restaurant concepts offer special ticketing options and incorporate indigenous Scandinavian
design metaphors. Among the first European stadiums that tailored its premium products for revenue, it
also targets specific fan groups and uses segmented ticket pricing strategies. The newly designed Tele2 won the "Venue of the Year Award" at the 2014 Stadium Business Awards.

Orig-inal objects from Tiger Stadium, like the neon score board showing real time scores, seating section signs, and vintage graphics are all incorporated into the design - evoking nostalgia for customers who remember the old ball park. The progression of the infamous Detroit “D” lines the ceiling in illuminated pennants at the entry of the Corner Tap Room into the ballpark.
