Traditional Woodland Skills Unique opportunity each day - workshops on other traditional woodland skills to complement horselogging - green woodworking, metal forging and charcoal burning - including making a swingle tree and replacement wooden pegs for logging equip- ment (left). For this part, Barbara will be assisted by James Carpenter, woodland manager at Coed Llwynonn. The course runs from 12 noon on Monday 2nd until 2pm on Friday 6th April. Each day will run approx. 10am - 4pm with plenty of time in the evenings for extra horse care, reading about horselogging, chatting about horselogging or finishing green woodworking projects/tending the charcoal burner. A good level of basic fitness and a willingness to spend all day in the great outdoors is useful. Free on site camping is available with access to camp kitchen and compost loo. Local accommodation is available. The course is run by Barbara Haddrill, a BHL- approved contractor, who runs Carnog Working Horses along with her cobs Tyler and Molly.
