5. In Graded classes, PONY RIDER shall mean an athlete who may compete as a Pony Rider up to the end of the calendar year in which they turn sixteen (16).

6. In Graded classes JUNIOR AND/OR JUNIOR COMPETITOR shall mean an athlete who may compete as a Junior from the beginning of the year they turn twelve (12) up to the end of the calendar year in which they turn eighteen (18),

7. For all other classes the age of the rider is as at the first day of the show.

8. The age of the horse/pony is the age as at the first day of the show.

NO HORSE / PONY WILL BE PERMITTED ENTRY ONTO KYALAMI PARK PROPERTY UNLESS THEY ARE ACCOMPANIED

BY A VALID PASSPORT/ BREED REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE – ALL VACCINATIONS MUST BE UP TO DATE STABLING - (brick and temporary) Stabling is booked on the stabling form attached with the schedule. Limited stabling is available at a fee of R200.00 per night per stable or R1,100 for the duration of the show. Stabling should be paid at the same time as Entry fees where applicable. Stabling forms with PoP should be emailed to [email protected] Use exhibitor’s name & Surname as a reference. Stabling will be allocated on a first come first served basis. People wishing to be stabled with others, must list all horses on one form. Daily stabling is from 10am on first day until 10am on the next day. Competitors requiring stabling for all or part of the second day must book 2 days stabling.

*ALL HORSES ARE STABLED AT OWNERS RISK* MEMBERSHIP AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS 1. Competitors must ensure that they are correctly registered with their applicable Breed Society or S.A.S.A.

and a Club (where applicable). All Competitors must be members of SAEF (entry level membership will apply for Breed Society entries).

2. (Temporary Kyalami Park Club membership is available and compulsory for ALL exhibitors, riders & handlers who are not members of Kyalami Park Club at a cost of R150.00 per person (with a maximum of R650 per Exhibitor) for the duration of the show. Please add this fee to your entry fees or quote your Kyalami Park Club membership number.) Temporary membership should be included with Entry fees.

3. SASA will pay entry fees for SASA EDTS competitors in all classes. The competitor must be an EDTS member of SASA. Membership is free. EDTS application forms, Rules and Conditions are available at www.showingsa.co.za or from [email protected]

All prize winners who are registered EDTS members will earn SASA EDTS Victor Ludorum points.

4. As part of the SASA Development Program, all handlers that are bona fide grooms will be exempt from

the R150 temporary KPC membership fee for their respective classes. 5. IN ACCORDANCE WITH DEPT OF AGRICULTURE GOVERNMENT GAZETTE DOC NO. R. 885 & ANIMAL

DISEASES ACT 1984 (ACT 35 OF 1984) “ALL EQUINES IN THE REPUBLIC EXCEPT EQUINES IN THE AFRICAN HORSE SICKNESS FREE ZONE AND SURVEILLANCE ZONE, AS DESCRIBED IN ANNEXURE 4, SHALL BETWEEN THE AGES OF 6 AND 9 MONTHS, THEN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 12 AND 15 MONTHS AND THEN AGAIN ONCE EVERY YEAR THEREAFTER BE IMMUNISED WITH AN EFFECTIVE REMEDY BY THE RESPONSIBLE PERSON: PROVIDED THAT THE DIRECTOR IN A PARTICULAR CASE MAY DETERMINE THAT SUCH IMMUNISATION MUST BE CARRIED OUT BY AN OFFICER OR VETERINARIAN” In keeping with this rule and the regulations of SAEF, all exhibitors must produce, on entry to the show, proof of immunisation of African Horse sickness and Equine Flu.

6. Competitors should note that NO REFUND will be made to competitors whose entry cannot be accepted due to incorrect registration and membership. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to ensure that the above is correct.

REFUNDS 1. Full refunds will be given if the entry is not accepted by the Society or Show Holding Body due to classes

being over/under subscribed, or if the classes are cancelled prior to the start of the show. 2. No refunds will be given for entries cancelled by the rider or owner after closing date of entries 3. Should the show be cancelled a 20% admin fee will be deducted from the refunds TIMETABLE A provisional timetable appears at the end of the schedule as a guide. Competitors are advised to check with the Kyalami Park Club office / website or SASA website for any changes. VARIATION TO PROGRAMME The organizers reserve the right to make any changes to the program. Every effort will be made to inform all those affected individually, but notice of the exercising of the abovementioned will be deemed to have been given to all concerned by - a) A notice being placed on the notice board at the bob charter arena. b) Announcements being made over the public address system. c) All changes made to the program will be made available on the SASA website:www.showingsa.co.za and

the KPC website. d) Should it rain during the time of the supreme championship classes, these classes may be held in the

indoor hall. The hall will be made available for exhibitors to familiarize their horses/ponies prior to these classes.

e) If any other classes are cancelled due to rain, they will not be rescheduled. SUBSTITUTION OF RIDER/HORSE As per SASA/BREED SOCIETY rules. DRESS Competitors are requested to be correctly dressed, according to the SASA/BREED SOCIETY rules, when in any of the arenas. T-Shirts are not allowed. COMPETITOR DISCIPLINE The judge’s decision is final. S.A.S.A. Rules & Regulations and Breed Society Sanctions will apply in cases where disciplinary action is required. OBJECTIONS AND APPEALS / EXERCISING OF HORSES SASA and BREED SOCIETY rules apply. NO exercising of horses is allowed in the arenas MINIMUM NUMBER OF ENTRIES IN EACH CLASS A minimum of number of 4 entries is required to run a class. Should less than 4 entries be received, the Show Organizers reserve the right to combine or cancel classes.

CLASHING OF CLASSES / CROSS ENTRIES Whilst every effort will be made to avoid clashes of classes, competitors who make multiple entries do so at their own discretion. Classes cannot be delayed. You are advised to check the provisional timetable thoroughly before entering. No cross entry of horse/pony is allowed between SASA Novice & Open classes and General Breed Ridden Classes. INDEMNITY SASA, Kyalami Park Club OR ANY OF THE BREED SOCIETIES MAY NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSSES, DAMAGES OR INJURIES SUSTAINED BY HORSES, RIDERS, OFFICIALS, THE PUBLIC OR THEIR PROPERTY.

COVID 19 REGULATIONS & INDEMNITY

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SHOWING EVENTS WILL BE HELD UNDER THE FOLLOWING REGULATIONS & INDEMNITIES

AS PER SAEF GOVERNMENT SUBMISSION – 1 JULY 2020

Neither SASA nor any Showing Council accept any responsibility /liability for any Judge, Competitor, Show Official, groom, parent, driver that might contract Covid-19 at any Showing show. All entries are done so at

your own risk.

This document must be read in conjunction with the SAEF Sport Ready, Safe Sport Resumption Covid-19 Document. All Show Holding Bodies must comply with the Government Gazette and approved SAEF sport

ready document.

1. All competitors, judges and officials must be members of SAEF. 2. All riders, judges, officials, support staff & medics agree & confirm that they will comply with the South

African Government Regulations & SAEF Covid-19 guidelines & protocols, as issued by SAEF and set out on the SAEF website www.saef.org.za , when entering a show/event.

3. Riders may only be accompanied by their groom & a driver (only if needed). The driver of the vehicle must remain in /or near the vehicle for the duration of the show. Junior & Pony Riders (18 years & under) may be accompanied by one parent or guardian. Note that the maximum number of individuals permitted at any show/ venue, will be determined by the schedule supplied by SAEF for each registered venue.

NO SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED & STRICT SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE ENFORCED. 4. All present at the Event will be required to report to the official Covid-19 Compliance Officer on arrival.

This includes grooms, parents & riders. The register will be signed, Temperatures will be taken & recorded, Hand sanitizer will be provided. Only screening (taking of temperatures) is required, not testing (as in a Covid-19 official test). All individuals must complete and submit the SAEF Covid-19 Self Screening questionnaire and hand it over to the Covid-19 Compliance officer.

5. The name of the relevant Covid-19 Compliance Officer will be published on the entry form. 6. It is COMPULSORY for all present to wear face masks/covering, correctly positioned, at all times. 7. Riders do not have to wear masks in the warm-up arena and may compete without a mask. On

Completion of the class/round, riders must return to their parking spot to untack, load and vacate the venue as soon as possible. A cool down period of 15 minutes is allowed, and the rider should then leave the premises as soon as possible afterwards.

8. Horseboxes & vehicles must adhere to the regulatory distance of 5m (five meters) apart, in demarcated parking areas.

9. No prize-giving will be held. All prize money will be paid electronically. A record of prize winners will be kept. Results will be posted online or provided by e mail. Rosettes may be placed in a designated area clearly marked for the riders’ attention.

These may be collected by Riders, who are cautioned to wear masks and adhere to strict social distancing guidelines.

The designated area must be provided with hand sanitizer for recipients to use. Riders are also requested not to gather at the collection point. 10. When lined up, competitors must maintain a 3.5-metre distance between each other. 11. Note that it is the Covid-19 Compliance officer’s duty to determine how many competitors will be

allowed to compete at a show. Any relevant Covid-19 restrictions pertaining to this, will need to be adhered to.

12. The Show holding body and venue has taken all & every precaution, ensuring Covid-19 compliance. Please note however that the Show Holding Body (Venue), SASA & the South African Equestrian Federation (SAEF) cannot be held responsible for any person contracting Covid-19 at the respective venues. All attendees enter the venue at their own risk. All competitors participate at their own risk. Note that SAEF Insurance will not cover anyone, should a person contract Covid-19 whilst attending/participating in a show, hosted by the approved Show Holding Body.

13. The venue’s appointed Covid-19 Compliance Officer is authorized to ask any person/ attendant at the venue to leave immediately, should any of the Covid-19 regulations be contravened. No refunds will be given for entries, levies or any other costs incurred.

14. Catering may be available, provided correct Covid-19 Rules are adhered to.

Competitors are asked to be respectful of all involved, as well as respecting the serious implications of not adhering to Government Covid-19 Interventions and Regulations.

ALL BREEDS – ADDITIONAL CLASSES

Handler Classes: AA1. Child Handler 6yrs to 10yrs Open to all children in this age group with ponies up to and including 1.50m.

Competitors will be judged on their ability to show their pony in hand. Conformation of the pony will not be taken into account.

NO STALLIONS MAY BE SHOWN AA2 Child Handler 11yrs – 15yrs

Open to all competitors in this age group. Competitors will be judged on their ability to show their horse/pony in hand. Conformation of the horse/pony will not be taken into account. NO STALLIONS MAY BE SHOWN

AA3 Groom Handler Class: Handlers class open to all bona-fide grooms showing horses/ponies. Class will be judged on

turnout & the ability of the handler to show their horse/pony. Conformation will not be taken into account.

First & Second prizewinners to compete in class 5008 “Groom Handler of the Year”

AA4 Groom In-Hand Utility class Class open to all bona-fide grooms showing horses/ponies. Handlers will be judged on their ability to lead their horse/pony through a course of obstacles.

AA5 Grooms 3-gaited riding class Class open to all bona-fide grooms. Class will be judged as a 3-gaited riding horse class on the rail.

AA6 Veteran Horses / Ponies: In-hand class for retired horses/ponies over the age of 18 years. No cross entries with any other

class! (Horses may not be currently competitive)

AA7 Strictly Come Showing – with a difference A freestyle to music competition for all different breeds of Show Horses. This class is designed to promote the correct training and production of the Show Horse. (Rules available on www.showingsa.co.za) Competitors will be allowed to ride in correct dress for their Discipline e.g. Western Riding (It is NOT a fancy dress class) and the test may include movements suitable for that breed.

AA8 Racehorse to Show Horse A Show Riding Horse class open to all ex-racehorses that have been retired from racing for 4yrs or

less. Schooling, manners & conformation will be judged. Horses must be shown under their registered racing names.

GENERAL RULES 1. Entries Are Open to Fully Paid Up Members of AHBSSA only. 2. Exhibitors are requested to take note of all show rules. The rules may be obtained from [email protected], and are also available on our Facebook page AHBSSA under the files section. All requirements, conditions and arrangements concerning the show not contained within this correspondence are contained within them. 3. Exhibitors may only enter animals in their capacity as the registered owners, or with written approval of the registered owner. 4. No refunds will be made in regard to an exhibitor being scratched, unless made prior to closing date of entry. 5. No substitutions will be permitted, unless with the approval of the Show Committee. Refer to show rule: Conditions of entry 1.4. 6. All horses shall remain on the show grounds at the expense and risk of the exhibitor. 7. Each exhibitor shall be solely responsible for any consequential or other injury, loss or damage to, occasioned by or arising from any horse exhibited by him/her and for its description as given in the catalogue or from any other cause whatsoever and shall indemnify the Society, its agents, associates and employees against legal action or other proceedings in regard thereto. 8. The Show Committee reserves the right to decline the admission or retention of any horse on the show grounds. 9. Exhibitors must at all times give personal attention to their horses. 10. All Exhibitors and persons in charge of horses are subject to the orders and requests of the Show Committee. 11. The Show Committee reserves the sole and absolute right to interpret these or any other prescribed conditions and regulations or Prize List and to arbitrarily determine all matters, questions or differences in regard thereto, or arising out of or concerned with, or incidental to the show, also to refuse, reject, accept or accept conditionally and to cancel entries, vary or cancel awards or prizes, or reduce the value of the prize or to disqualify exhibitors or prohibit exhibition of entries. Their decision shall be final. 12. ALL horses and owners to be currently registered with the A.H.B.S.S.A. by closing date of the entries for the show. 13. Combining or cancelling classes is at the discretion of the Show Convener, and may be done so due to lack of entries. Minimum of 3 horses per class. 14. Colts over 2yrs must be shown with a suitable halter and slip chain, a snaffle bit or a double bridle may be used for animals over 3yrs and already being ridden in one, young stock must be haltered with own handler. 15. Stallions and mature colts 18 months and older may NOT be handled by anyone younger than 16 years of age. 16. The Best Coloured Class is judged 60% colour and 40% conformation and is at the discretion of the judge, the result is subjective and final. 17. Any complaints must be lodged with the Show Convener, in writing, within half an hour of the last event have been completed, and the complaint must be accompanied by the payment of R100.00. No credence will be given to any complaint if the correct procedures are not adhered to. 18. No exercising or working of horses in the main arena prior to the show without prior permission by the show convener or their representative, any competitor found doing so will be disqualified immediately. 19. Appaloosa Classes are restricted to those ponies/horses registered in the Appaloosa registry 20. Appaloosa Pony Classes are restricted to those ponies that are registered as Appaloosa Ponies. 21. Appaloosa Sport Horse Classes are restricted to horses that are registered as Appaloosa Sport Horses 22. No cross entries between Appaloosa, Appaloosa Pony, and Appaloosa Sport Horse classes. 23. Animals registered in the basic section of the breed registry are only eligible to enter classes specifically designated for them.

24. No entries will be accepted on the day of the show. Please ensure that your horse is in the correct class – see Rules 20, 21, 22, 23 & 24

PLEASE NOTE It is the duty of the competitor to present him/herself to the gate steward immediately before the start of any class.

CLASS TIMES Times can vary from the program due to unforeseen circumstances and will RUN ON Late arrivals will not be

permitted after the gate has been closed by order of the show convener or their representative. This is to enable the published time table to be adhered to as near as possible. All class times will be as close as the published ones

as circumstances permit.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES When entering multiple riders on one horse/pony or one rider with multiple horses/ponies. The following applies

in a championship class. The rider may only ride one horse/pony. A horse/pony may only have one rider.
