This week’s hornet spotlight shines brightly on Raven Cox.
She is a proud student of Pelham High School; she is in so many activities at school
we can hardly keep up. Raven has been a part of the Pelham High School Marching and
Concert Bands and the Drill Team for all four years of
high school. She was a member of the track team for her freshman and sophomore years. Raven was very active when it came to clubs; she was in drama her
freshman through junior years, Beta for her junior and senior year, FFA all four years of high school, FBLA her sophomore year, FCCLA, and FCA for her fresh-
man and sophomore year. Outside of school she likes to spend time with friends, have bonfires, go hunting, and cruising the roads.
This week’s hornet spotlight also shines brightly on Kelly Wade. She has been a proud student of Pelham
High School for four years. Kelly has been on drill team all four years of high school and has been cap-tain her junior and senior year. Kelly was a member of
FBLA for three years, from her freshman year to her junior year. Also, she is a member of FCA and has been for four years and she is a Beta club member since her
sophomore year until her sen-ior year. She has participated in many sports for PHS includ-
ing tennis from freshman year to junior year, track from soph-omore year to senior year, and
cross country her junior and senior year. Kelly has also played the alto-sax in the band all four years of high school.
Congratulations, Shawnee Fenton,
FFA Area 5 Presi-dent! We are so
proud of you!

Spring Break
Instagram #PictureoftheWeek! #Path
Spring Break has come and gone, and since the break was later this year, PHS students have very few days
left until school is out for summer! Most of the seniors will complete their high school career on May 15, and the underclassmen will finish on May 24th. With gradu-
ation less than a month away, even though Spring Break is over, there is a buzz of excitement in the halls of PHS
since we are in the last school month of
the year!
There is a new social network brewing into town. The newest social network that has come along is
called #Path. Path is a personal social network designed to help you be closer with family and friends. It has new
graphics and more ways to communicate with one another. These students have posted their Path’s onto Instagram to promote and gain new followes. IGPOTW
is something new we are adding to The Buzz, so if you are on Instagram and you want your picture to be in the next addition follow
these steps. 1.) Take a pretty impressive photo. 2.) Tag your p i c t u r e

Prom Committee
This year’s prom was a success due in part to the hard work of the prom committee made up of Bratreka Troutman, Lacey Brogren, Lacey Owens, Taylor Carroll, Shawnee
Fenton, Shondreka Jackson, Whitney Harrell, and KeyOndra Robinson. Not pictured is Tony McIntyre. Great job, Ms. Megahee and the Prom Committee!
The Dream Girls will be sponsoring a food drive from May 1st—May 15th. They will be collecting food for the nearby
Food Bank! Please bring nonperishable items to school to donate. Remember, “It’s not how much we give buy how much love we put into giving” that truly matters.—Mother
Teresa.

2013 Prom King and Queen
Hakeem Ferrell and Ashley Chason
George Jones, who has died at age81, was country music's most stylish and emotional singer. Less well-known outside the genre than his one-time wife
Tammy Wynette, he had one of the finest voices of the 20th century. He was the king of honky-tonk, the
raw electric country style, and was in a direct line from Ernest Tubb and Hank Williams.
