Expected Impacts of the WASTCArD Project

The technology contribution would have many applications in several healthcare areas:

- Sudden cardiac death prevention

- Cardiac screening in sports

- Atrial fibrillation treatment

WastCARD HORIZON 2020 – WASTCArD – WRIST AND ARM SENSING TECHNOLOGIES FOR CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIAS DETECTION IN LONG TERM MONITORING The WASTCArD Project was the first successful Horizon 2020 application involving a Trust in Northern Ireland. The application competed with 203 other applications and was ranked number one with a score of 95.2%. Successes

 Mobile Assistance for Groups and Individuals in the Community (MAGIC), will receive a European Commission grant of €3.6m (£2.7m) for the development of solutions for post-stroke care. The terms of the grant require that solutions are developed and tested through pre-commercial procurement. http://magic-pcp.eu

The DESIREE project aims to provide a web-based software ecosystem for the personalized, collaborative and multidisciplinary management of Primary Breast Cancer by specialized Breast Units, from diagnosis to therapy and follow-up. http: //www.desiree-project.eu

Community Based ICT for Maternal Health in Africa

Connected Health Early Stage Researcher Support System http://www.chessitn.eu/CHESS won €3.9m funding under the Horizon2020 People Programme and the project commenced in September 2015. It is Europe’s first networked Connected Health PhD training programme.
