SMEs participation in Horizon 2020

- Horizon 2020 is open for participation of SMEs, also from the Southern Mediterranean countries. They are eligible for automatic funding;

- They can participate in the EUROSTAR initiative if their country is a member of EUREKA; •- They are not eligible for participation in the following specific instruments: SME Instrument and Access to finance. They can participate there as sub-contractors or third parties without funding.

The biggest innovation funding gap - access to funding of proof of concept and demonstration projects and bringing the innovative ideas to the market.

EU, IFIs and the South Mediterranean countries are committed to look for complementarities of actions and programmes covering the whole value chain from research to innovation and enabling every institution to find its place and role in an overarching framework.
