• The most widely ratified set of development goals ever signed
• Reduce under-five child deaths by two-thirds from a baseline in 1990
• Reduce maternal mortality by three-quarters in the same period
To achieve the Millenium Development Goals
• Primary care is the strategic frontline, but….in most countries
• Update training for primary care professionals is missing
• Local teaching ressources are not available (migration of qualified professionals)

• Agreement with african universities• Training on healthcare & how to use computers• In addition to local teaching, Direct interactive
course, offline access to recorded courses on local server or DVD
• UNFM network of qualified primary care professionals
• Access to information is free of charge• Registration fees for examination

• The international board decides on the contain of the « units »
• Each « unit » is approximatively 60 hours with written and oral examination
• The inter-universities diploma is delivered after validation of 3 units (already over 100 diploma)
• This diploma is also recognised by the francophone Senghor University of Alexandria

• Focus on child and maternal health• Focus on dissemination of knowledge and not on
technology,• Collaboration with RAFT• Concern on sustainibility : public-private
partnerships, shared classroom with entreprises, local e-business, ethnic north/south solidarity
Perspectives
• In Mali and Burkina, extend the system to the regions; develop new local partnerships
• Extend the system in the capitals of new countries (Brazzaville, Yaoundé, Niamey,…)
• Improve existing partnerships and develop new ones
