“Once Upon a Parable”

HOPE’S WELLNESS TEAM – will be offering blood pressure screenings after each service on the second Sunday of each month. The screenings will take place in the conference room (Room #125). The next screening will be held on Sunday, June 12th after the 8:00am worship service. Also, a summer blood drive will be held on Sunday, July 17th in Kuntz Hall from 8:00am-12Noon. Sign-ups will be held on the following Sundays; June 19th & 20th and July 3rd & 10th.

HOPE’S ACTIVITY EXPO – mark your calendars now for Hope’s Activity Expo which will be held NEXT Sunday, May 22nd, beginning at 9:00am. You can learn more about the committees and groups that meet here at Hope Church.

SYNOD DELEGATES NEEDED - A male delegate is still needed to attend the Synod Assembly on Friday, June 17th and Saturday, June 18th at the PPL Center in Allentown. The church will cover your expenses. If interested, please speak to Pastor Jami as soon as possible. Thank you! VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL – Mark your calendars now for this year’s VBS. It will be held from Monday, July 11th through Friday, July 15th from 9:00am - 12Noon. Bible School is in need of 20 oz. Gatorade bottles with the lids for an art project. Please place them in the box in the narthex. You can register online at vbs.hopecherryville.org or registration forms are available on the table in the narthex.

HOPE FEST - This year Hope Fest will take place on June 17th and 18th. Our next meeting is on Wednesday, June 8th at 6:00 pm. All are welcome! If anyone is interested in helping plan this annual church event, please come to our meeting or contact Josh Larkin at (610) 844-5832 or [email protected], or talk to any committee member you may know. JEWELRY FOR HOPE FEST – The basket committee of Hope Church is looking for your gold, silver, costume, even broken jewelry and don’t forget jewelry boxes! The ladies will be selling these items at Hope Fest. Please drop off your donations in the marked “jewelry” box in the narthex. Your donations are greatly appreciated. THANK YOU! HOPE FEST HELP IS NEEDED - Volunteers are needed for 2 - hour shifts. A set-up and clean-up crew is also needed. Sign-up sheets are posted in the narthex. Please help; we can’t do this without YOU!

HOPE FEST CHINESE AUCTION - Chinese Auction items needed. Please help by donating “NEW” items to our auction. Items or gift certificates can be dropped off in the church office.

LEHIGH TOWNSHIP ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CARNIVAL - our youth will be helping with the games at Lehigh Township’s school carnival on Friday, May 20th from 6:30-8:30pm. The sign-up sheet is posted on the youth group bulletin board along with the sign-up sheets for geocaching and shore trip! KNOEBELS TRIP - Mark your calendars NOW for Saturday, August 6, 2016. We have a pavilion reserved for you at Knoebels Amusement Park and Picnic Grove in Elysburg, PA. We have the pavilion from 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Watch for a sign-up sheet to be posted on the bulletin board in the narthex! PRAYER SHAWL MEMBERS - The last meeting until the fall was held this past Thursday, May 12th. We will resume meeting in September. Please remember that donations of completed items is greatly appreciated and accepted anytime. Have a great summer!

PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK – The Congregational Council is encouraging all our members to grow in their spirituality through a regular Prayer Life.
