Summer Greetings!
It is hard to believe that July is already here. I am hoping that the first weeks of summer have treated you well and that you
find yourself enjoying the beauty that surrounds us.
Here at Hope we are staying busy with many fun activities to bring people together during this time of year when people are
traveling many directions. We hope that you will join us when you are in town for worship, but also take note of the fun
events coming your way in July and August.
On July 20th, there will be a congregational picnic held near Emigrant. This will be a great opportunity
to come out for an afternoon of fun and conversation. We will be providing the meat and drinks, along
with all of the paper products for a cost of $5 per person. We are asking you to bring a side or dessert
to share. There is a large space where games can happen and other areas where you can just enjoy the
landscape and people that surround you. There is now a sign-up sheet in the upcoming events section
of the sign-up board. If you have any questions, please contact us in the church office. We hope to see
you there!
In August, the Congregational Life Team will be hosting Sundae Sunday. This will take place on
August 17th between services. It will be an opportunity to have ice cream sundaes for breakfast!! Who
wouldn’t want that? This will be a great time to get to know some people from the different services.
We will see you for this fun summer event!
Also at the end of August, we invite you to join us at Christikon for Family
Camp. This is a fantastic time for all people to gather together for some days of relaxing,
conversing, learning, and whatever else you may need before jumping into the fall schedule. Last
year we had people from all walks of life join and it was a wonderful time. We will be at Christikon
beginning Friday, August 29th. We invite you to join us for the whole weekend if you are able as we
are able to stay up there until Monday, September 1st. Registration will be coming out soon. If there
are any questions about what the weekend entails feel free to talk to me, Paul, or one of the
people that went in past years. It is a weekend you won’t want to miss out on!
Finally, just a reminder that we gather every Wednesday evening for fellowship and worship.
Our first few weeks of Singing our Faith have been enjoyed by the many who have attended.
Each Wednesday we gather from 5:30 to 6:30p for a bring your own picnic dinner, followed
by a brief worship service at 6:30pm. The upcoming hymns can be found on the Wednesday
worship section of the newsletter.
As always, we know this is a busy time, but love to see you when you can make it. Just a quick
reminder that worship times this summer are 8:15 and 10:00. In worship you can look forward to
hearing about the Ten Commandments, 1 John and Ruth, our series that we are using for
the summer. Also, don’t forget that on July 13th our youth will be sharing experiences from
the mission trip to New Jersey.
Blessings on your summer and see you soon!

4SAVE THE DATE
This year we have been invited to return to
Martha Drysdale’s Wikiup B&B near Emigrant
for a congregational picnic. It will be Sunday,
July 20.
July 27 will be the rain date. We will provide
burgers, brats, beverages and paper products for
a cost of $5.00. Guests are invited to bring an
appetizer, salad or dessert. We will provide
lemonade, water and iced tea. Martha said she
will provide the wine. If you would like beer,
you should bring your own!.
All ages are welcome. Martha has a large yard
perfect for games, so feel free to bring a Frisbee
or two or other lawn games you might wish to
share.
Save the date and sign up now on the bulletin
board. Ypu can pay Dar in the office.
Directions: Go south from Livingston towards
Emigrant. Her place is the 2nd right after mile
marker 28. There are large mushroom shaped
rocks on either side of the driveway and a sign for
Wikiup.
