Welcome to the new Desert Lake Shooting Club for the Ducks Unlimited, “Ducks in the Desert” Continen-tal Shoot. We are excited about hosting the event in Las Vegas where you can bet on having a good time. We invite you to bring the family for four days of first class shooting and gaming fun.

The 2008 event is shaping up to be our best ever with the added feature of the “Best of the West” club trophy. When you register, make sure to identify your home club. The top 5 scores from each club will be added together to compete for the “Best of the West” perpetual trophy to be displayed at the home club for a year. These shooters will also take home a trophy and the bragging rights of being the “Best in the West.”

In addition to the 200 target main event, 100 target preliminary, small gauge, 5-STAND and fun games, there will be loads of fun shoot prizes, including guns, and much more. This shoot is limited to 300 shoot-ers, and we are betting on a sold out crowd. The host hotel and casino is just minutes from the club with a fantastic view of Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam. The room rates are terrific while they last, so sign up right away.

Registration fees include all ammunition, targets and social events (NSCA and state target fees not included). There are huge prize packages, featuring Bass Pro Shops Gift Cards and Browning shotguns. There are great Friday and Saturday night parties and meals. We will have lots of side games throughout the weekend, with valuable daily prize packages. All this in sin city, but don’t feel guilty, your participation helps Ducks Unlimited— the greatest wetland and conservation effort in the world.

Shoot ruLeS

1. All events will be governed by official NSCA rules. Sporting clays targets will be registered for existing NSCA members only. Membership in the NSCA is not required for a shooter to participate in this tourna-ment. But if you are an NSCA member your scores will be registered.

2. This is a Winchester/Ducks Unlimited 12 gauge tournament. Only Winchester supplied factory ammuni-tion can be used. If you choose to shoot a sub-gauge in either the prelim or main event, you must supply your own Winchester Factory Ammo. (Use of any other ammo will result in disqualification.)

3. Shoot management may alter the shoot program if necessary without prior notice.

4. Tie-breaking procedures will be clearly posted at the event prior to the start of competition. All ties in sub-gauge and 5-STAND events will be determined by tie breaker stations.

5. Eye and ear protection is required.

6. Special concurrent prizes will be awarded in Ladies, Sub-Juniors, Juniors, Veterans, and Super Veterans categories.

7. No refunds after February 7, 2008.

8. Shoot management reserves the right to place a shooter of “known ability” into the appropriate NSCA class and collect any fee’s pertaining to said placement, and/or refund their entry fee.

9. Prizes not claimed within 90 days will be used at a future event.
