HONESTY
by
Honesty in a nutshell! Honesty is hard to pin a project on. You can practice honesty in all you do, but that’s hard to put down on paper. So this project is going to be another one of our creative projects. What you are going to create is a movie that you might find on YouTube. In fact, here is an example of exactly what you are going to create.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8CZ7kl6Btk
In order to do this you will need quotes, clip art, even some music.
Quotes:
You must give the proper authoring to the person who originally stated it. What does that mean? That means that if Harriet Tubman said it‐you give her “props” by saying something like: “by Harriet Tubman” or “~Harriet Tubman” Anything that will indicate that the original was said by Harriet Tubman.
Your quotes need to focus on honesty. The aspect of honesty you want to focus on is your choice. Such as do you want to focus on Why to be honest or consequences of NOT being honest. Either is fine.
Clipart:
You’ll need to come up with some clipart or graphics that will be a backdrop to your quotes. Now keep in mind that there are copyrights. So you can only use either your own drawings or what is called royalty free clipart (all those found in your word processing programs are royalty free). Here are some other locations that you can find on them:
http://office.microsoft.com/en‐us/clipart/default.aspx http://srufaculty.sru.edu/david.dailey/public/public_domain.htm http://www.clker.com/ http://www.wpclipart.com/ http://etc.usf.edu/clipart/ http://tell.fll.purdue.edu/JapanProj//FLClipart/ http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/ http://karenswhimsy.com/public‐domain‐images/ http://www.oldbookart.com/ I have not checked all of these locations for appropriate content, please use with caution.
Music:
Again you need to watch out for copyright issues. If you are only creating this for your family to see then you can use any of the music that you have purchased either a CD or an MP3 download. If you are talented, you can use your own music creations. If you are going to try to post it on YouTube or on your own blog, I am not sure of the proper copyright laws. So you really should stick to your own music or research the laws on what you can use.
So now that you have all that you need to plug them into either a power point presentation or into a program like windows movie maker. Have fun and get creative!!

Honesty in a Hero
Take some more time to research your hero. Find out what they do when the need calls for honesty. Are they gentle with the truth, do they thrust it aside? Are they brutal and disregard feelings in order to always be truthful? Are they sincere in their honesty, or just telling the truth to prove a point? Use the internet to find articles about your hero. Use an encyclopedia and the local library. After your research is done, write a 5 paragraph essay explaining how your hero shows honesty. Explain how their honesty is shown in little or large ways. Show how their honesty has made them more of a hero or less than one in your opinion. Perhaps even explain how their honesty or lack of it, has encouraged you to be honest in your dealings with your fellow man. Be sure to write down your sources that you find! This is the internet address you find your information on, the book you find it in, or the person you interview. Fill in the sources sheet to help you.

Hon 8:10
Honesty
Honesty is always the best policy, but there are a lot of words that can “muddy the waters.”
Using a thesaurus find all the words that are synonyms and antonyms of the word HONESTY. Write them on the cards following the pockets. Take a moment to consider each word—write whether the word would describe a sincere honesty, or an insincere one. Then sort them into the proper envelopes.
