• Using the image, write 4 sentences using the formulas below:

Example Sentences
• The chair is an African baby seat.
• Someone in this house must love gum.
• Compound: Louis will never sit in that chair, and Veronica never will use it again.
• Complex: After class, the teacher questioned all the students about the desk.
• 2nd– (complex)• You will have backaches
if you sit in that chair.
2nd period
• Dad said that desk has gum hanging from it.
• IC=simple sentence
• #2. Compound----There is gum under the desk, and it looks very disgusting. (There is gum under the desk; it looks very disgusting.)
• 3. Complex sentence--- When someone got gum on their leg, he/she had to change his/her pants.
• 4. 2nd complex sentence--- He ate chips at the store until he was full.
3rd Period
I sat in the dirty desk. (IC=Simple)
Compound: The desk looked old, and it sat next to a window.
I jumped over the desk, and I hurt myself.

• Although you can’t get up in the middle of class, don’t put your gum under the desk.
• Although the desk was covered in gum, the kids still played outside.
