Homecoming Banner Competition The goal of the 2014 Homecoming Banner Competition is to promote school spirit and unity. All UNC student organizations and clubs are encouraged to participate. Banner competition winners will receive a monetary award to be used for their organization: first place: $175, second place: $100, and third place: $50, respectively. Rules and Regulations Must use the standard sheetsized banner provided by the Homecoming Committee. All other materials and supplies needed to create the banner must be provided by the participating organization. Banners must display the club/organization’s name on their banner Banners must incorporate a UNC spirit theme or the 2014 Homecoming theme “Tar Heels on the Prowl.” Our rivals for the Homecoming game are the Pittsburgh Panthers. There can be no curse words or excessive violence/gore on the banner as it must be appropriate to be displayed in the Union. Banners deemed inappropriate will be ineligible and will not be displayed. Must turn banner in by Friday, Nov. 3, at 5 p.m., to the front desk of the Alumni Center located on Stadium Drive Competition Timeline: Oct. 910 Come by the Alumni Center between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. to register for the competition, pick up your banner and get painting. Nov. 3 Banners are due at the Alumni Center by 5 p.m. All banners must be accompanied with the banner application form. Nov. 1014 Banners on display in the Union, and General Alumni Association Facebook page at facebook.com/uncgaa Nov. 8 Winning banner announced on the General Alumni Association Facebook page at facebook.com/uncgaa Nov. 9 Winning banner on display at the Bell Tower for the Homecoming game during the Homecoming Tailgate (three hours prior to the game) Judging Criteria All banners will be on display in the Student Union during Homecoming Week (Nov. 1014). The winning banner will be hung on the Bell Tower prior to the Homecoming football game. Photos and descriptions of the banners will be uploaded to the UNC General Alumni Association Facebook page where all students, alumni and fans will be able to vote for their favorite banner. Homecoming  Banner  Competition
