Page 5: Home Learning Sheet 1 Year 1 - Westcott Primary

Reading Activity 3

Evaluate your mop

Did you mop soak up the water? Was it strong?

Will you be able to use your mop again?

e.g. My mop did not work because the handle

snapped. Next time I will choose a strong

material. My mop was good because the fabric

soaked up all of the water.

Reading activity 1

Read up to page 8 together.

Tabitha has accidentally turned herself

into a cat! Now it’s your turn… What

animal would you turn yourself into and

why? Draw a picture of the animal you

would like to turn into and write a

sentence telling me why you want to be

that animal.

Reading activity 1

Can you answer these questions based on

what you have read so far?

1. What has Tabitha turned herself into?

2. What was the name of the spell that

Tabitha wanted to use to impress the

Head Witch

3. How did Miss Brewer feel when Tabitha

returned to class

4. Why do you think Miss Brewer felt

angry?

These can be answered either

verbally or you could write the

answers down in sentences.
