Have a look around your house.
What different materials can you find? What are
they used for? Describe them.
e.g. the window is made of glass. It is smooth
and see through. The brush hand is made of
plastic. It is strong and light. The table is
made of wood.
Materials that you might be able to find.
wood, plastic, metal, rock, glass, water, fabric
Words to use to describe:
smooth, rough, heavy, light, see through, ab-
sorbent, non-absorbent, shiny, dull, soft, hard

that you would pack including a

MUST ask your grown-up to find you

are okay for you to look at!). Can you

good about the product? What is not
good about the product?
Reading
Read the title of the book and the blurb
on the back. Using this and the pictures
on the front cover, can you write a
sentence to tell me what you think will
happen in the story?

Evaluate your mop
Did you mop soak up the water? Was it strong?
Will you be able to use your mop again?
e.g. My mop did not work because the handle
snapped. Next time I will choose a strong
material. My mop was good because the fabric
soaked up all of the water.

Tabitha has accidentally turned herself
into a cat! Now it’s your turn… What
animal would you turn yourself into and
why? Draw a picture of the animal you
would like to turn into and write a
sentence telling me why you want to be
that animal.
