NOTE: When registering online you can only enter ONE item under each class. Class is indicated by
the numbered items in each area. Also, watch each individual area for total entries allowed.
Educational Exhibits
4-H, EHC, FFA, FCCLA, Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts and Master Gardeners
Rules:
1. There are two divisions of educational exhibits: youth & adult.
2. Best of Show in EHC and 4-H Booths are eligible to enter the District Fair or the highest point
booth in these divisions.
3. Exhibits can be set up on Sunday from 2:00pm-5:00pm and Monday from noon -4:00 pm.
They must be in place by Monday at 4:00 pm and remain in place until Sunday following the
fair.
4. Exhibits must be disassembled and all items/trash removed on Sunday. Access to building will
be from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
5. Pre-registration is required by calling the Lonoke County Extension Office at 501-676-3124.
Booths will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Sizes of booths are 2’x4’, 2’x8’, and
4’x6’.
6. Prize money will be awarded according to judging points.
Community Educational Booths
Rules:
1. Community Educational Booths must be pre-registered by calling the Lonoke County
Extension Office at 501-676-3124. They will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
2. Booth set-up times are Sunday, 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and Monday, noon to 4:00 pm. The booth
must remain in place until Sunday after the fair. Take down time is Sunday, 1:00 pm to 4:00
pm.
3. The unmanned booth must promote the non-profit organization and/or service offered. It may
also represent a current project that is educational to the community. The booth may not
represent a political or controversial issue. Any booth deemed inappropriate will be rejected.
4. No sale of items for fund-raising purposes is allowed.
5. These exhibits are for display only.
NOTE: Information for Manned, Commercial Booths is listed under Entry Forms
– “Commercial/Vending”.

General Rules:
1. PeeWee’s (ages 5-8) will be allowed to show in any division. Only ribbons will be awarded, no
premium points.
2. Exhibitors must register at the door before registering their exhibits with the Department
Chairman.
3. Exhibitors must live in Lonoke County.
4. There will be 3 divisions: Youth 9-12, Junior 13-18 (up until their 19th birthday), and Senior 19
and over.
5. Commercial and professional exhibitors are not permitted to enter exhibits in the Educational
and Home Economics area.
6. Points are awarded as designated in the premium list. Exhibits are judged on merit. Those
worthy of blue, red, or white premium ribbons will be awarded points, with the exception of
youth ages 5-8.
7. The judges will examine items extensively. The judge has the authority to disqualify the exhibit
if it does not warrant a premium. Judges decisions are final.
8. Articles not conforming to the sections and classes listed in the catalog can be entered as a
wild card/other. Only one wild card/other per section for each exhibitor.
9. Exhibits must be clean, in first class condition and not shown in a previous Lonoke County fair.
10. All exhibits must be the work of the exhibitor and completed since previous County Fair.
11. Superintendents for each department have the right to reject any article which they feel does
not qualify to show.
12. Judging will begin Wednesday at 9 am. After the conclusion of the judging, exhibits will be
open to the public for viewing.
13. The Lonoke County Fair Association will exercise precaution to prevent loss or damage, but
will not be responsible should any occur.
14. The Lonoke County Fair Association will not be responsible for exhibits not picked up by 4:00
pm Sunday.
15. Best of show will be awarded in youth, junior, and senior division in each department and will
receive an additional 3 points if the judges deem approved.
16. Tags may be picked up at the Lonoke County Extension Office between 9 am and 4 pm
Monday through Friday if you would like to have they filled out before you come.

PeeWee, Youth, Junior, and Senior Divisions
1. Exhibitors are limited to 2 entries per exhibitor in the Art Division.
2. All schools must enter art exhibits on Monday between 10 am and 1 pm at the Educational
Building on the Fair Grounds.
3. Paintings must be original, no cartoon characters in any form. No weapons. No type of violent
messages or images (comic book, internet game characters and trademarked images are
illegal.)
4. Paint by numbers projects will not be accepted.
5. Exhibits done on paper MUST be matted or framed. No glass allowed. Wire hangers and
strong tabs required.
6. Each exhibit must have name, age, address, section and class of art work, and description on
the back left hand corner with school name and teacher, if applicable.

Food Preparation
PeeWee, Youth, Junior, and Senior Divisions
1. All baked foods and confections must be made from scratch. No mixes allowed with the
exception of Section I. Gluten free items are accepted in each category. If the item goes on to
the State Fair, a copy of the recipe must accompany it. However, recipes are not necessary at
the county fair.
2. Exhibitors must enter the whole cake or pie. All entries MUST be in a disposable container
and will NOT be returned with the exception of decorated cakes. Decorated cakes must
remain throughout the fair.
3. The whole loaf of bread must be entered and brought in a plastic food storage bag.
4. Six cookies, rolls, muffins and pieces of candy must be placed on a paper plate, covered in
plastic wrap or a plastic storage bag for entry.
5. All food items, with the exception of decorated cakes, must be covered.
6. Only one item may be entered per number in each section.

Food Preservation & Honey
PeeWee, Youth, Junior, and Senior Divisions
1. Only 36 jars of canned food per exhibitor may be entered.
2. All canned food must be in standard, clear glass canning jars with self-sealing, two-piece lids.
Inappropriate jars include non-standard canning jars (example: mayonnaise jars), green or
blue glass jars.
3. Jars MUST have a vacuum seal (except jars containing dried products).
4. Appropriate headspace requirements MUST be followed: ¼” for jams and jellies; ½” for fruits,
pickles and tomatoes processed in a water bath canner; 1” to1¼” for low acid foods processed
in pressure canner.
5. Size of canning jars should be as follows: Fruits and vegetables, fruit juice, tomatoes and
pickles: pints and quarts (except cream-style corn, pints only). Sweet spreads or relishes: half-
pints, pints or quarts.
6. Labels for the jars may be picked up at the Extension Office and filled out prior to entering the
product. Labels must be attached to the side of the jar.
7. Items may be regular sugar, low sugar, or sugar free. May enter one regular and one low
sugar/sugar free.
8. Only one item may be entered per number in each section.
The following ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE for exhibiting at the fair:
1. Foods not processed following USDA/CES, UA recommendations.
2. Paraffin-sealed jars or jellies
3. Jars with more than 2” headspace
4. Foods that have been improperly packed such as fancy packed vegetables.
5. NO MEATS ALLOWED
6. Jars with the color altered through the addition of dyes, bleach, sulfite, or other agents with the
exception of cucumber cinnamon rings.
NOTE: The Kerr/Ball Award program has been discontinued by the company.

Photography
1. Photos must be original work of the exhibitor and not previously shown in the Lonoke County
Fair.
2. Exhibitors are limited to ONE print per class (numbered item).
3. Photos MUST be 5”x7” matted on an 8”x10” stiff backing OR 8”x10” matted on an 11”x14” stiff
backing. Colored matting is acceptable. MATTS are mounted on top of the picture to
resemble a frame. One piece of construction paper or poster board with a hole cut and the
picture placed between it and the stiff backing is acceptable. A picture glued or taped on top of
a piece of construction paper or poster board is NOT acceptable.
4. No identifying marks – names, dates, places – are permitted on the front of the mat or photo.
5. All exhibitors MUST have their name, age (youth and juniors) and address with a brief
description of the subject or location (girl with flower, boy at lake, sunset at state park) on the
back of the photo in the upper left hand corner.
6. No professional photographs are allowed.
7. No photos framed with glass.
8. The superintendent and/or judges will disqualify photos that do not meet specifications as
stated.
9. Only one item may be entered per number in each section.

PeeWee, Youth, Junior, and Senior Divisions
1. Three types of quilts will be accepted for judging: pieced, applique, and whole cloth.
2. No pre-quilted factory finished quilts will be accepted for judging.
3. All items must be quilted by hand unless category states that item can be machine quilted.
4. Quilts must have been completed since previous Lonoke County Fair.
5. Machine-made quilts are eligible. The same high standards of judging apply.
6. Each quilt must have a tag with the name of the quilt pattern on it.
7. Only one item may be entered per number in each section.
