TwinEaglesJack Nicklaus and TwinEagles
Make a Great Team
TwinEagles has long been a magnet for professional golfers and
those who appreciate lush, pastoral surroundings. Now, with
the opening of its second golf course and the introduction of its
attractive Phase II real estate offerings, this splendid community is
enjoying a renaissance. Guided by the vision of its new owners, The
Ronto Group, TwinEagles promises to be more exceptional than
ever.
Set on 1,115 acres of sweeping, natural preserves, TwinEagles offers
golfers and homeowners a remarkable lifestyle in uncommonly
beautiful surroundings. Native grasses and tall stands of oak and
pine trees shelter an amazing array of wildlife and form a gentle,
undulating backdrop for the exquisite homes and neighborhoods
discreetly tucked along the greens and fairways that weave their
way throughout the community. The Ronto Group has enlisted an
exclusive cadre of the region’s finest builders to create a collection
of beautifully designed Phase II homes built to exacting quality
standards by Southwest Florida’s most skilled craftsman. Thoughtful
planning has ensured the new homes will serve as a perfect
complement to those in TwinEagle’s established neighborhoods.
Golf club membership is included with the purchase of a new home.
Designed by Jack Nicklaus and his son Jack Nicklaus II, the Talon
Golf Course is at the heart of TwinEagles. The legendary course
is 7,193 yards and the site of the February 2012 ACE Classic—a
Champions Tour event that is celebrating its 25th anniversary. 2012
marks the sixth year the Champions Tour has chosen to hold the
event at TwinEagles.
“There’s a reason the pros play here,” says Kathy Miller, Vice
President of Marketing of TwinEagles. “The Talon has all the unique
Nicklaus staples: length, tough approach shots, and undulating
greens. It is a delight for the pros because of the way it performs.
At the same time, it’s a pleasure for members at all levels because
of its natural beauty and multiple tee boxes.”

Constructed to support carefree living, the home is open and airy. The exterior
boasts a unique tabby finish. Tabby is a stucco product with shell embedded in
the cement. The material has a timeless character and allows for low maintenance.
Not often seen today, tabby was used extensively in coastal districts of Europe
in the early nineteenth century. “We’ve done it before; it is a unique finish,” says
Kurtz. He follows their projects past completion, with a special homeowners’
program offering a concierge service to maintain their client’s homes long after
the move-in date. “We don’t just build a home and leave; we build a home and
stay,” says Kurtz.
The main living areas are in the western portion of the home and each of these
rooms is alive with captivating Gulf and sunset views. Light and bright, the floor
plan has an uncluttered footprint with glass on three sides — by the stairs, on
the beach side, and by the kitchen — fulfilling Cooney’s vision of incorporating
sweeping vistas of the Gulf of Mexico from almost every room.
A cheerful light infuses the family room, which offers the perfect open space for
indulging in a little entertainment. However, the sight of dolphins frolicking just
outside the wall of windows may prove to be stiff competition for any feature
film being shown in the room’s big screen television.
The bright and airy French country kitchen is fully-equipped with a custom La Cornue
range from France, which creates a culinary paradise.

While this home’s stately, traditional appearance
is obvious for all to see — something surprising
awaits those who enter its doors. Careful attention
has been paid to each detail of the home’s design
— allowing it to serve as the perfect canvas for the
homeowner’s extensive modern art collection. This
blending of the traditional and the contemporary
was a challenge that Architect John Cooney was
more than happy to tackle. “My goal was to design
a sophisticated piece of architecture that would
nestle into a community that was traditional in
nature, serve as a backdrop to the homeowner’s
art collection, and deliver phenomenal water views
from every room in the house,” says Cooney from
Stofft Cooney Architects.
While the home’s exterior architecture is old
Florida style, upon closer inspection one can
notice subtleties that lend a more contemporary
countenance. “The smooth precast, precisely built
metal roof, thin fascia, soffit details, and clean
corbels all give the Old Florida style a cleaner look
to tie into the interiors.” says Chuck Rainey, Vice
President of BCB Homes.
Inside, the home’s monochromatic pallet allows the
art to take center stage — with the extra punch
of unique architectural detailing. An awe inspiring,
multiple-reverse coffered ceiling with indirect
lighting ignites the imagination, enhancing the
homeowner’s desire to immerse himself into the
artistic landscape that brings him joy. Aesthetic
pieces, such as the rich and tactile stainless
sculpture “Looking Down” by Tony Cragg and a
beautifully luminous multi-color painting by Peter
Zimmerman delight the senses.
The home’s Old Florida architectural style is reflected by
traditional details such as porches and large overhangs.
The metal roof is indicative of the old tin roofs that were
used in the early 1900s.Ph

Stone AgeSelecting Natural Stone for Your Home
When designing or renovating a home today, selecting natural stone for surfaces comes with abundant choice.
With today’s exquisite options, the design possibilities are endless when you factor in the varieties, colors, and
textures of natural stone.
The most frequently selected stone is granite, with its timeless beauty and elegance. It is both prestigious and
practical. No two slabs of granite are exactly the same, which means yours will be completely unique. In addition,
granite is one of the hardest materials on earth, so it is not likely to scratch. Granite is also porous, so it should
be sealed with a good quality sealer. Sealing will give you time to clean up spills before they are absorbed into
the stone to create a stain. On occasion, you may want to spruce up the shine and add a little extra protection
from fi ngerprints on your granite countertops by using a stone polish.
Another popular choice is marble. It is commercially defi ned as any limestone that will take a polish. Marble in its
purest state is white; colored marbles are the result of other minerals being mixed with the calcite or dolomite.
Marble, no matter what the color, will usually have some type of veining running through it; the veins are usually
different in color than the main color of the stone. Marble is relatively soft when compared to other stones, such
as granite, so care should be taken because it can scratch easily and is sensitive to acidic chemicals.

With the neutral granite flooring as the only fixed
design component, Wyss was given a blank palette
with which to work. He thought carefully about the
balance between nature and design, the movement
of light through the home, and the prominence of
the brilliant blues of the Gulf and the sky.
“Spaces should create emotions,” Wyss believes.
“By combining noble materials and modern shapes,
we’ve created a contemporary, sporty, and elegant
effect with a distinctly European flair. It’s timeless
and inviting.”
The designer used a masterful mix of contrasting
elements to convey both luxury and simplicity.
The gleam of the granite floors is complemented
by the depth and texture of the softly colored
Venetian stucco walls. Brightly colored abstract art
is balanced by rich, neutral fabrics, warm woods,
and leather. Chandeliers in sparkling jewel tones
offer an enchanting focal point.
“Every element has its own characteristic feel and
special sensuality,” says Wyss. “The correct use of
material, shape, and color is important for all the
elements to work together to their best advantage.
This is especially true when there is so much
brightness to consider.”
Working together, Wyss and his clients built each
room, element by element, with hand-crafted
lighting fixtures, exquisite wall finishes, and
meticulously vetted furnishings.

create a sense of symmetry in the living room. The
neutral palette provides an ideal backdrop for the
large contemporary canvas and the spectacular
view.
Previous Page — The spacious foyer sets the stage
for the home using all of the designer’s signature
elements in a sleek and glamorous mix of color, light,
and texture that showcases the owners’ magnificent
contemporary art collection. The tables are made of
Murano glass and imported from Italy.

In search of the perfect fabric
There is an immediate sense of satisfaction one gets upon entering the front door of a Boca Bargoons fabric store. You can’t help feeling you’re in the right place as you look for the perfect fabric for your home.
Perfection is defined as the highest degree of proficiency, skill, or excellence, and being the best at decorative fabric isn’t easy. It requires a well-choreographed effort by highly trained and talented people. The staff at Boca Bargoons is exactly that… aisle upon aisle, rolls of decorative fabric are meticulously paired in stories of coordinated vignettes synchronized by colors and patterns that make the visual experience of Boca Bargoons extraordinary.
This process is repeated continually as new fabrics from the world’s finest weavers arrive. Name brands like Brunschwig & Fils, Clarence House, Scalamandre, Lee Jofa, and many more fill the Naples store from ceiling to floor. The daily arrival of these impressive name brands coupled with the meticulous efforts of displaying them are only half the story of success in this renowned fabric company.
The other half and perhaps the most memorable of the Boca Bargoons experience would be the price you pay for the fabric itself. The premium fabrics this company carries also command an equally premium price, however, their heavily discounted pricing — coupled with weekly sales events — makes shopping for fabric more of an adrenaline rush than a job.
On any given day, scores of decorators are hard at work at Boca Bargoons cutting samples of fabrics for clients’ approval, as Boca Bargoons carries hard-to-find, rare fabrics, as well as current patterns and colors.
