X10 is Powerline Carrier Protocol (PLC): allows compatible devices to communicate using existing 110V wiring at home

X10 transmitters send coded low voltage signal that is superimposed over the 120V AC

X10 signals involve 1ms long 120k Hz bursts representing digital information
