"I want to go home too," said Neal.
"I miss Mom, Dad, Hal, Cindy and Ms. Alice
Brown. It's been a long time since we've
been on the houseboat going to the marina
and to Boyer's Store. Max, how will we get
home without Hal helping us?"
1
2
"I'm happy to have Razz back, but I do miss
my family, too," replied Max. "I miss our
friends, Ben, Pete and Rob. I miss the
baseball and soccer games. We must
discover a way to get home!"
"I've got an idea," said Kim. "The yellow
crocodiles, Yours and Mine, brought us here.
Perhaps they could take us home again.
Let's have Perky Parrot ask them for us."
3
4
5
"I have news to share with you," chirped
Perky Parrot. "The crocodiles, Yours and
Mine, won't be flying for awhile. I have a
secret to share with you. They are expecting
twins. New t-shirts are being made for them.
The new t-shirts will have 'Theirs' written on
them."
"We are getting some help," cried Max.
"Periwinkle is spreading his gigantic fantail
for us. He will help us get home again."
"I'm ready to go," answered Neal.
"Periwinkle is dusting his feathers in the
laser light dust."
6
"Let's grab on to his feathers and go with
him," said Kim. "It's time to say good-bye to
our friends. I didn't know it would be so sad
to leave this spectacular land of the yellow
crocodiles.”
"Perky, we will miss you and the crocodiles.
Won't you please come with us?" invited
Max.
"Good-bye! Good-bye!" chirped Perky.
"Some day, perhaps I will come visit you, but
for now my home is here. Remember I talk
for the crocs."
7
8
"It's tough to say good-bye to friends we
love," said Kim.
"Yes, it is," replied Max, "but sometimes we
have to say good-bye, so we can say
hello again."
9
"Max, have you seen Razz? He seems to be
gone again. We don't want to leave without
him," said Neal.
"Razz likes to visit the Calico Cove. Let's
check there for him," said Max.
10
"I can see why Razz likes this Calico Cove.
It's very comfortable in here," said Kim.
"Look at this," cried Max. "I can see why
Razz likes it here, too. Listen to those
extraordinary purrs. Look on that soft pad of
velvet green grass. Do you see what I see?"
(Can you guess why Razz is purring ?)
"Wow!” said Neal. "Check out that gorgeous
Calico Cat."
"Yes," said Kim. "The Calico cat is 'Dazz'.
Dazz has been the mascot for the Calico
Crocs. However, Dazz has found a new
friend. She likes to play with Razz. Of
course, Razz is fond of Dazz, so we will ask
the Crocs if we can bring Dazz with us for a
visit to Razz's home.”
11
12
"Hello, hello," called Perky. "I have special
yellow laser tickets with your real names on
them. If you know your real name, go to
Periwinkle and show him. These are the
tickets that will take you home. There are
five laser tickets:
'Maxamillion'
'Kimille'
'Razzle'
'Dazzle'
'O' Neal Boyer'
(Can you tell who’s getting the tickets?)
13
The Croc-Clock is striking 24 o'clock. It's
departure time. All the crocs are gathering at
Croc-Square to launch the friends off for
their 'home again' flight.
"Now, Yours, let's have no more big
crocodile tears," said Max. "It is tough
enough for me to say 'good-bye' to you. You
are such a favorite friend. I'm glad we know
how to travel to this land."
14
Max, Kim, Razz, Dazz and Neal touch
Periwinkle’s large, soft, feathery, fan tail. The
laser dust rubs off onto the friends hands.
It's a special dust. They all hold hands as the
Croc-Clock stricks 24 chimes. The huge
peacock and the friends fly . . . up . . . UP. . .
and away . . . high into the cotton candy
clouds.
"This is the most spectacular feeling I've
ever had," said Kim.
"I agree," answered Neal. "It's awesome."
"Just look at this," said Max. "Periwinkle
knows his way over, under, and around this
great rainbow. He has his own channel to
get home on,
Channel #5."
15
Hal, Cindy, Alice, Teena Lee, Karen, Ben,
Scotty, Mike, Pete, Uncle Paul, all the
families, and friends are at the TV studio.
They are watching the channel of laser light.
"Oh, me! Oh, my!" cried Alice. "A band of
color is coming down through the cotton,
candy clouds."
Max, Kim, Neal and their party of five is
arriving at the studio. It was the happiest
reunion of all time. It was a time to
remember!
16
"Where are the yellow crocodiles, Yours and
Mine?" asked Hal.
Max smiled and said, "Yours and Mine are
with Ours and Theirs."
"Okay, Max," continued Hal. “This ticket
reads Maxamillion. Are you really
Maxamillion, the Magician?"
Max winked and answered, "Actually, I'm
really Max McOmber, but I feel like a million
when I have adventures with my friends—
especially when you read about our
adventures."
After reading this book, talk for a fewminutes about secrets.
