Message from the Principal
We have reached the end of the first semester. On behalf of the HTS staff,
thank you. Thank you to all our wonderful parents and adult volunteers for
your time, energy and financial support. We especially want to thank you for
your kind donations to our Christmas Fund this year. Our staff sacrifices a lot
in order to work for our Lord to better the lives and teach our students the
message He preaches. The fact that you make it possible to give back only
strengthens and confirms that commitment.
I have spent the past 20 years teaching and leading students and teachers in
the public schools. In the past 6 months, I have realized the gift of a Catholic
Education. Being someone who has been a part of both systems, I can
honestly say that your children are in the best place.
Father Mike approached me at one of our beautiful Christmas Programs and
ask how much I enjoyed being able to celebrate Advent and Christmas within
my job. Knowing I had always had to be mindful of other’s religious beliefs in
the public school environment, I always felt something was missing during this
season. I am so blessed to be able to celebrate Advent and Christmas with so
many wonderful and faith-filled individuals throughout this community.
Speaking of our Christmas programs, what better way to get in the spirit of
the holidays than to hear children singing. A huge shout out to our students,
teachers, staff and volunteers who organized and performed in these
programs the past couple of weeks. I brought my family to the Christmas
Choir and Chimes concert Wednesday night as a way to generate that spirit in
my own family. It was a joy and brought a tear to my eye.
I hope that the entire HTS community has a peaceful and incredible break.
Enjoy your time with family and friends. Pray for those in need and remember
to be generous and understanding to those less fortunate.
Happy Advent, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
For the Kids,
Mr. Merfen

THANK YOU HOLY TRINITY SCHOOL!
The outpouring of support and love from the families of Holy Trinity Catholic School for Joel
Sydzyik was astonishing!
THANK YOU for those who purchased a bracelet, or donated to the cause, or are offering
prayers and special intentions for Joel.
It has all been overwhelming in a wonderful way! I wish the family could have been there to
see the support they have from their parish community. Thank you for bringing some holiday
cheer to Joel and his family! Continue the prayers! Since Joel is homebound for a little longer,
you may send some Joy his way via the Well Wishes on his Caring Bridge.
https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/joelsydzyik
Go to Caring Bridge Home Page and scroll down to Well Wishes. Upload your photo by
clicking the Up arrow icon. Choose your picture from the computer. And post your message.
There are also directions online if you need more assistance.
I was hoping for those who have bracelets to show them in the pictures since Joel has no idea
how many wonderful people have contributed to his cause.
OR how many people are supporting him in prayer or in their own special way.
Much like FOX news STANDS UP for someone with cancer, I thought this holiday season we
could do the same for Joel!
The family is always in need of “lifts” – this would be a great way for Joel to see people and
stay connected from a “healthy” distance.
May God Bless each and every one of you and wishing you all a very Blest Advent Season and
Christmas.

Catholic Schools Week Talent Show
Each year Holy Trinity provides the opportunity for students in grades K, 2, 4, 6, and 8 to
share their talents with their peers. Each act may be any length shorter than three minutes.
Typical offerings include: dance or cheerleading ensembles, piano or other instrument solos
or duets, solo or group singing, gymnastics, magic tricks, jokes, skits, as well as other
creative thoughts.
The talent show is performed once on Friday, February 3 at 1:00 PM in the school gym. This
performance is for the entire school, as well as for any family members who would like to
attend.
Students must audition to ensure that they have an act that is prepared and appropriate for the
show. This year’s auditions will be on Friday, January 20 during the school day, and will
take place in the Quigley Center. Parents are allowed to help their child get ready for the
audition, but are not allowed to be in the room during the audition. Students
auditioning MUST have a SIGNED PERMISSION SLIP with them on the day of the
audition. Anyone who comes to audition without a signed permission slip will not be allowed
to participate.
The talent show is a favorite activity for many students, and is a wonderful self-esteem
builder. No judging is done, and no awards are given; we are all there to appreciate and
support each other and our gifts. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions!
We highly encourage 8th graders to audition for the Emcee positions and to create a
group act. Permission form must be signed.
