Destiny Dreams Project The Destiny Dreams project is an initiative of Blazing Trees, to innovate resources for dream and vision storytelling, interpretation, and discipleship.

As our Lord Jesus gives dreams and visions to our team through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are mapping them into visual art, storyteller videos, and discipleship lessons along with Scriptural interpretation and spontaneous prayer.

Vision Overview Jesus gave this vision to James over the course of several years covering three ministry seasons. These scenes are based in Ezekiel 47 and Revelation 22, a prophetic drawing of how Jesus brings his kingdom to earth through the Holy Spirit’s presence. The key to lasting fruitfulness in the Great Commission is not a specific model, strategy, or resource. The key to lasting fruitfulness is the presence and revelation of God the Holy Spirit speaking to all disciples.

Holy Spirit River Vision

Refreshing River Scene 1

Interpretation - Jesus told his disciples in John 16:7 that they were better off with him leaving earth and returning to heaven, so that he could send the Holy Spirit, fulfilling Ezekiel’s vision. The river brings living water that heals, refreshes, and nourishes. The Spirit flows from the Father and Son, ministering God’s gifts and fruit to all nations.

Revelation - Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live. Fishermen will stand along the shore spreading their nets, and the fish will be of many kinds. Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing. (Ezekiel 47:9-12 NIV)

Hidden Light Scene 2

Interpretation - So many today still do not see the light of Jesus Christ. This light is spiritual, a holy light that exposes whatever tries to hide in darkness. Romans 3:11 teaches that everyone’s starting place is rebellion with no desire for God. The Holy Spirit is a river of shining light and living water that provides a pathway to Jesus’ heavenly kingdom. God’s people enjoy this river every day by walking in the Holy Spirit, but if we are silent the nations will not see it.

Revelation - The time of darkness and despair will not go on forever. The land of Zebulun and Naphtali will be humbled, but there will be a time in the future when Galilee of the Gentiles, which lies along the road that runs between the Jordan and the sea, will be filled with glory. The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a light will shine. You will enlarge the nation of Israel, and its people will rejoice. They will rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest and like warriors dividing the plunder. (Isaiah 9:1-3 NLT)

Living Water Scene 3

Interpretation - Something extraordinary happens when Jesus’ followers overflow with the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:25 teaches us not only to testify that we live by the Spirit, but also to make sure every day that we are in step with the Spirit. In John 4:14, Jesus told the woman at the well that anyone who enters the Holy Spirit river will overflow with the resurrection life and all the gifts and fruit of God’s heavenly kingdom. When the lost and wandering people in the desert see the streams of living water created by Jesus’ disciples standing in the river water, they are drawn to the river by the power of the Holy Spirit to enter God’s family.

Revelation - “I, Jesus, sent my Angel to testify to these things for the churches. I am the Root and Branch of David, the Bright Morning Star.” “Come!” say the Spirit and the Bride. Whoever hears, echo, “Come!” Is anyone thirsty? Come! All who will, come and drink. Drink freely of the Water of Life! (Revelation 22:16-17 MSG)

Jesus’ Rest Scene 4

Interpretation - Jesus makes it clear in Hebrews 4 that his rest is radically different than the world. If we are unwilling to value, prioritize, and enter into his rest, we live under a curse, and by our actions we demonstrate our idolatry. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus teaches three keys to experiencing his rest: 1) focus on him, 2) spend time alone with him, and 3) receive his rest as a heavenly gift. Furthermore, the Church exists for us to rest together as a community in the presence of the Holy Spirit. In this vision, we see Jesus’ disciples gathering together at rest as a faith family eating, drinking, worshipping, relaxing, and delighting in the Holy Spirit’s presence just like we witness in Acts 2:46-47.

Revelation: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul; he leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:1-4 MEV)

Glory Dimension Scene 5

Interpretation: One day, Jesus’ disciples asked him to teach them how to pray. Jesus’ response in Matthew 6:9-10 was teaching them to ask for three things: 1) that all peoples and tongues will praise and glorify the Father, 2) that God’s heavenly kingdom will come to earth, and 3) that God’s sovereign will be done in everyone’s lives. This drawing illustrates how we join in with the worship and service of heavenly beings as we collaborate around Jesus’ mission.

Revelation: When the living creatures moved, the wheels moved beside them, and when the creatures rose from the earth, the wheels also rose. Wherever the Spirit wanted to go, the creatures went in the direction the Spirit was moving. The wheels rose alongside them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels. When the creatures moved, the wheels moved; when the creatures stopped, the wheels stopped; and when the creatures rose from the earth, the wheels rose alongside them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
