DEAR PARISHIONERS:

Welcome to Holy Week, the days during which we celebrate the essence of our faith. We begin with the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem, continue with the Last Supper & Passion, & culminate with the Resurrection of the Lord. This is the week to deepen our prayer life through meditating on the Passion of the Lord. This is the week to pray the Scriptures concerning the Passion narrative, so that we can appreciate what Jesus endured for our salvation. This is the week to pray intensely for those preparing to receive the Easter sacraments & become full members of the Catholic Church. This is the week to hope that more people will come back to the active practice of their faith, especially by coming to Mass on Easter & each of the following week-ends. This is the week to continue to live out our Lenten resolutions for several more days. This is the week to challenge ourselves to service, to “wash the feet” of those around us. This is the week to offer up any of our sufferings for the Lord, who was scourged & crucified for us. This is the week to praise God for Jesus entering Jeru-salem & continuing to Calvary. May you have a week of holiness, prayer, & faith. Our schedule for the Triduum, the most special days in our liturgical year, are below. Please come & celebrate them, as they are true gifts from the Catholic Church for us. --FATHER JOE Holy Thursday Mass commemorating the Institution of the Holy Eucharist & Priesthood, at 6:30 p.m. Good Friday The service this day commemorates the Passion of the Lord---his dying on the Cross for our sins, at 3:00 p.m. Easter Vigil The celebration in which we gather in joy to celebrate new life in Christ Jesus, & to welcome our Catechumens & Candidates into the Catholic Church & Holy Family Parish, at 7:00 p.m. Easter Sunday This is the day to assemble & let our praises & Alleluias ring out, for Jesus has Risen, at 8:00 & 10:00 a.m.
