Old Bill’s Fun Run—Community Lunch This is how Old Bill’s Fun Run helps out the Community Lunch program: It is our only source of monetary funding for the program. The program’s mission is to feed bellies and warm hearts. However, that cannot happen without the hard resources of people and money. To support our church and the community lunch program, donate by 5 PM on Friday, September 15. To donate to the lunch program, log onto www.cfjacksonhole.org. Please note, if you choose to donate using the paper form, you will need to handwrite “Our Lady of the Mountains Community Lunch Program.”

SEGUNDA PARTE: Contar Cuentos Tres Lecturas y un Psalmo Los domingos hay tres lecturas de la Biblia. La pri-mera lectura vendrá de las Escrituras Hebreas. Re-cordamos los orígenes de nuestra Alianza. Se rela-ciona al Evangelio y dará el trasfondo y conocimiento sobre el significado de los Jesús hará en el Evangelio. Luego cantaremos y o recitaremos un salmo—una canción del himnario inspirado por Dios mismo, el libro de Salmos de la Biblia Hebrea. La segunda lec-tura suele venir de una de las Cartas de Pablo u otra escritura apostólica. PART TWO: Story Telling Three Readings and a Psalm On Sundays there are three readings from the Bible. The first reading will be from the Hebrew Scriptures. We recall the origins of our covenant. It will relate to the Gospel selection and will give background and an insight into the meaning of what Jesus will do in the Gospel. Then we will sing or recite a psalm—a song from God’s own inspired hymnal, the Book of Psalms of the Hebrew bible. The second reading will usually be from one of the letters of Paul or another apostol-ic writing. The third reading will be taken from one of the four Gospels. Some visitors to the Catholic Mass are surprised to find us reading from the Bible! We Catholics have not generally been famous for our Bible reading, and yet the Mass has always been basically and funda-mentally biblical. At one time some Catholics were surprised to learn how much of the Mass is taken from the Bible. Not only the three readings and the psalm, and obviously biblical prayers such as the “Holy, Holy, Holy” and the Lord’s prayer, but most of the words and phrases of the prayers of the Mass are taken from the Bible.

Debido a su generosidad, nues-tros piano y campanitas han mejorado la cali-dad de las experiencias litúrgicas en los últi-mos meses. Me siento sumamente bendecido y es un honor para mi usar el nuevo piano y acompañar al canto de nuestra congregación. Espero poder conmover cada uno de Uds. A través de las meditaciones de piano y hacerles sentir alegría al escuchar el coro de campani-tas. Tocando un piano tan sensible me ayuda a hacer un músico major. Cada vez que toco el piano, me siento como si estuviera una ora-ción para Uds. Un agradecimiento especial al comité de captación de fondos que dio mu-chas horas en el esfuerzo de obtener estos instrumentos. Due to your generosity, our new piano and hand bells have enhanced the quality of our liturgical ex-periences over the past several months. I feel extremely blessed, and it is an honor for me to use our new piano to accompany our congre-gation’s beautiful singing. Hopefully, I am able to touch each of you through piano medita-tions and have you feel joy by hearing our hand bell choir. Playing such a sensitive piano is helping to make me become a better musi-cian. Every time I play the piano, I feel as if it is a prayer for you. A special thank-you goes out to each of the fundraising committee members who volunteered many hours in helping to secure these instruments. Since music expresses the often inexpressible and uniquely touches the inner soul, my prayer is that our congregation will continually grow in our worship of God through the beauty of our new piano and hand bells!

DACA & The Dream Act From the Diocese of Cheyenne, Office of the Legislative Liaison, Deacon Mike Leman— On June 29, 2017, ten state Attorneys General (not Wyoming’s) urged the Administration to rescind the DACA (Deferred Action for Child-hood Arrivals) program. Nearly 750,000 immi-grant youth have been protected by this pro-gram. Bishop Steven has put out a press re-lease in support of those who are protected by DACA. He is encouraging contacting our con-gressional delegates to support the DREAM ACT, which is a bipartisan-sponsored bill that would provide a clearer path to U.S. citizen-ship for people who are undocumented, who have DACA or temporary protected status (TPS), and who attend a U.S. high school, en-roll in college, enter the workforce, or enlist in a military program. Summer Singing with the Choir Anyone who likes to sing is invited to rehearse with the choir before a Mass and then sing with the choir at that Mass. You could partici-pate just once or every week! The choir will be rotating through the weekend liturgies. Fr. Ubald Mass and Healing Service Please join us on Thursday, September 14, and on Thursday, September 28, at 5:30 PM. Following Mass, Fr. Ubald will lead the congre-gation through a special prayer encounter with Christ. Fr. Ubald’s own faith in Jesus Christ has led many people into a deeper relationship with their Savior and thus liberated them from the bondages of sin. These Masses, celebrated by Fr. Ubald, are known to have helped people heal from a wide range of illnesses, from the physical to the spiritual.
