“Pastor’s Weekend Message”

“You have received a Spirit of adoption, through which we cry, Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15)

Blessings in the Lord! Today, the Lord blesses us by teaching us how to pray. This is important because ‘prayer’ is our connection to God and others. When we pray, we talk to God and we build our relationship with the Lord and each other. The “Our Father” is our best way to be closer to God. Jesus taught us this prayer, why then should we not pray it always? Remember that we must always pray especially during these difficult times. Your faith and mine are needed. Our Christian witness is essential. Prayer is our best refuge and source for holiness. God is our source of strength. Let us never stop doing the following “seeking, knocking and asking” as the Lord relates in this week’s Gospel. Please continue to pray for Holy Family. Like all other parishes, we need you spiritual and economic support. Remember to be supportive in prayer and big in generosity during these difficult months. We place our hope and trust in God alone. Together we can do it. I ask you to help me with our 21th Annual Fiesta, August 11, 2019, (with purchase of raffle tickets, volunteer time, and donations). “Mensaje Pastoral del Parroco”

“Hemos recibido un espíritu de hijos, que nos hace exclamar: “Padre!" (Romanos 8:15).

¡Bendiciones en el Señor! Hoy, el Señor nos bendice al enseñarnos como ‘orar’. Esto es muy importante porque ‘la oración’ es nuestra conexión segura con Dios y los demás. Cuando oramos, nosotros hablamos con Dios y construimos una mejor relación con Él y los demás. El “Padre Nuestro” es el mejor camino de acercarse a Dios mismo. Jesús nos enseñó esta oración, ¿entonces porque no orar esta oración a todo momento? Recordemos que tenemos que orar ‘siempre’ especialmente durante estos tiempos tan difíciles. La oración es nuestro mejor refugio y fuente de santidad. También recordemos de nunca cesar de hacer lo siguiente, “buscar, tocar, y pedir” como el Señor nos dice en el Evangelio. Favor de continuar orando siempre por la Sagrada Familia. Como cada parroquia, nosotros necesitamos también el apoyo espiritual y económico. Recordemos de apoyar por medio de la oración y ser generosos durante estos meses tan difíciles. Juntos lo lograremos. En particular les pido su ayuda con nuestra duodécima primera (XXI) Fiesta Anual a la Virgen de San Juan de los Lagos, que será el domingo 11 de agosto (9:00am-6:00pm). Necesito de su ayuda en la venta de boletos, su tiempo como voluntarios, y sus donaciones. Por medio de todos nuestros esfuerzos y oraciones llegaremos a formar una parroquia más unida como Sagrada Familia, y ser “una familia de muchas familias”. Gracias por orar y aportar. LISTEN TO YOUR CHILDREN This summer, when your children are out of school and on different schedules, meeting new people and going to new places, make sure that you talk to them often about their experiences and the people they’ve met. Listen carefully to your children. If possible, observe and get to know the other children and adults who are part of your children’s summertime fun. Above all, communicate your safety concerns to your children. Make sure they know that they can come to you with any concerns they may have about the people they interact with. And if you hear of or observe behaviors that may be inappropriate, make sure to communicate your feelings to people who are in a position to intervene. Communication is key to creating and maintaining a safe environment all year round. ESCUCHE A SUS HIJOS Este verano, cuando tus hijos estén fuera de la escuela y en diferentes horarios, conociendo gente nueva y yendo a nuevos lugares, asegúrate de hablar con ellos a menudo sobre sus experiencias y las personas que han conocido. Escuche atentamente a sus hijos. Si es posible, observe y conozca a los otros niños y adultos que forman parte de la diversión de verano de sus hijos. Sobre todo, comunique sus preocupaciones de seguridad a sus hijos. Asegúrese de que saben que pueden venir a usted con cualquier inquietud que puedan tener acerca de las personas con las que interactúan. Y si escuchas u observas comportamientos que pueden ser inapropiados, asegúrate de comunicar tus sentimientos a las personas que están en posición de intervenir. RESPECT-LIFE The Catholic Church in California experienced a rare legislative victory July 9 when SB 360 (compromised the confidentiality of the confessional) was pulled at the last minute because "there were not enough votes". The Catholic Church conducted an extensive Social Media campaign, with Bishop's letters, videos, websites and Press Releases, alerting citizens to oppose SB 360. The Catholic Church organized buses from Los Angeles and San Francisco to bring people to the Capitol for the hearing/vote on July 9. Yet, on the matter of life-and-death Senate Bill SB 24, which would mandate Chemical Abortion Pills be distributed on university campuses, facilitating an estimated 500 on-campus abortions each month, killing human beings and hurting women, there has been: No pulpit announcements, no bulletin inserts, no letters, no websites, or petitions against SB 24. Not a single Priest, not a single Bishop, has come to the Capitol for the votes on SB 24 to protect life.

21th ANNUAL FIESTA Our Fiesta in Honor of Our Lady of San Juan de Los Lagos will be on August 11th. We ask you to help us with the raffle tickets. The first raffle prize is $2,500 dollars; the 2nd prize is $1,000 and the 3rd prize is $500 We ask that each family take 10 tickets to sell. You will be given a ‘golden ticket’ for every 10 tickets that you sell which enters you into another raffle with a prize of $250 dollars. Thank you.
