Living and Giving Living and Giving in Christ: Unity through Diocesan Ministries continues as we ask for your financial commitment in support of the ministries of our local Church, the Diocese of Cheyenne. If you have supported these ministries in the past with a gift, we thank you and ask that you give again this year at the same level or, if you are able, to increase your gift; If you have not supported these ministries in the past, please prayerfully consider doing so this year. Pope Francis says that “God asks everything of us, yet at the same time he offers everything to us. (Joy of the Gospel, Paragraph 12)

Clergy Retreats As our priests return from their retreat on Friday, the deacons will leave for their annual retreat in Gillette from June 10 -12.

Farewell Brunch Next Sunday, June 12th, we will have a farewell brunch for Father Randy after Mass. Please plan on attending and wishing our Pastor good luck in his new assignment in Thermopolis.

Adopt a Tree Fundraiser The landscaping committee is planning a fund raiser for today, Sunday, June 5. We are offering the opportunity to Adopt a Tree for the south side of the Church. A 12 foot Blue Spruce is $250. You can adopt a tree in the name of a loved one, a family, yourself, anonymous, etc. Or you can con-tribute to a tree and become a Friend of Holy Family. All donations will be acknowl-edged and gratefully accepted. Recognition plates will be placed by each tree. We plan on 8 trees. Please contact Dee Roberts at 619.920.3805 if you would like to donate or have questions.

Building Fund Progress Our building fundraising surpassed the $100,000 mark with the generous contributions received last week. We are within $33,000 of being debt free for the first time since moving from Afton to Thayne. Thanks to our generous congregation we have also completed the classrooms, additional landscaping and numerous small projects that have enhanced the visual appeal of our church. As we prepare to celebrate our 4th anniversary in our new church on June 25th, we can look forward to remaining focused on our mission statement of “In Faith We Build”. Over the past 4 years, we have doubled our congregation size. Pope Francis notes that “when parishes focus on mission, they inspire their parishioners to grow.” Currently our planning is focusing on what we have to do to “double in 5”. With your help and involvement, we will double our congregation size in the next five years. A doable and exciting goal, thanks to you!!!!!!

Hunting Bow Raffle Thank you for supporting our High School Youth in their hunting bow raffle. The winner will be notified after Mass this morning and published in next week’s bulletin. Tickets are available prior to the drawing.

Bible Camp Please see our flyer page for information about our upcoming Vacation Bible School. We are in need of 2-3 dozen washed out peanut butter jars. Please bring some to the church as soon as you are able.

Dear Parishioners: We are delighted to announce that our parish will be offering Vacation Bible School this summer. The program we have chosen is from CatChat. The theme will be Cathletics, Training to be Champions for Life. This is a one-week program that will focus on “Training” kids in the Word of God. The teachings will be on the Greatest Commandments, 10 Commandments, Beatitudes, Fruits of the Spirit, and Evangelization. The program will run June 20

th-24

th from

8:30am-12pm. We invite all children/grandchildren to join in this week. Parents, this is a wonderful week of faith and fun that your child will enjoy. Please send your children. Grandparents, if you would like to invite your grandchildren to be a part of this please do so. All children ages Preschool to Sixth grade are welcome. We will need help from the parish to make this year’s VBS a success. We are looking for someone to help with music, food, and teachers/aides. We are also looking for volunteers for crafts and decorating. High school and Jr. High students, this would be a great opportunity to get involved with the church and earn some community service hours. If you can help in any of these areas, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Deacon Bill Hill or Angie Jirak at [email protected] or 307-885-0220.

We are excited to be able to offer this opportunity for our parish youth. Come and join the fun!
