“Pastor’s Weekend Message”

“Give me justice, O God, and plead my cause against a nation that is faithless. From the deceitful and cunning rescue me, for you, O God, are my strength (Psalm 43). God is Mercy; God is Forgiveness. Today’s Gospel [“this woman…..…caught in the act of adultery…”] speaks loud and clear of Jesus’ saving power through the very act of forgiveness – not condemnation. Encountering the very Person of Jesus is itself an encoun-ter with mercy and forgiveness resulting in reconciliation. Encountering Jesus gets rid of sin and brings about the beautiful life of mercy and forgiveness. Questions: Are there still sins in your life that you think God cannot for-give? What are those? Is there a spiritual area in your life that you still do not want God to enter or touch? We must remember that all sins are forgivable if we allow God’s Spirit to enter our life. Reconciliation is possible for all us who desire forgiveness and healing. During this Year of Mercy, let us make room for God and be reconciled with one another. We just have few days before we enter Holy Week. What are you waiting for? Lent is the perfect time to seek and have a personal encounter with Jesus. “Mensaje Pastoral del Parroco”

“Señor, hazme justicia. Defiende mi causa contra gente sin piedad, sálvame del hombre injusto, tu

que eres mi Dios y mi defensa” (Salmo 42,1-2). Dios es Misericordia; Dios es Perdón.

El Evangelio de hoy [“esta mujer.…...fue encontrada en acto de adulterio”] nos comunica muy claro el poder salvífico de Jesús en el verdadero hecho del perdón. Un Encuentro con la Persona de Jesús es en sí un encuentro de misericordia y perdón – y no de condenación – que en sí resulta en una reconciliación verdadera. Encontrarse con Jesús quita el pecado y da la bella vida de la misericordia y el perdón. Preguntas: ¿Acaso todavía tiene algún pecado en su vida que usted cree que Dios no puede perdonar? ¿Cuáles son esos pecados? Recordemos que todos los pe-cados son perdonables, si nosotros permitimos que el Espíritu de Dios entre en nuestra vida. La reconciliación es posible para todos aquellos que desean el perdón y la sanación. Esta en sí es verdadera reconciliación. Recorde-mos que ya solo tenemos pocos días antes de la Semana Santa. ¿Qué es lo que estas esperando? La cuaresma es el tiempo perfecto para buscar y tener un encuentro personal con Jesús. Please join our entire Catholic and Pro-Life community on Good Friday, March 25th at 8:00am. We will park and gather at Eastridge Community Church, on the corner of Oakdale and Briggsmore in Modesto. We will sing and pray as we walk 2 hours (4 miles) through Modesto, pass-ing by the abortion clinic at 2030 Coffee Road. The walk will conclude at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (located at1813 Oakdale Road). Please bring a rosary, pro-life sign, your family and friends. We will walk rain or shine!

Living Mercy in the Jubilee Year of Mercy (Bible Study)

This Lent, Holy Family has formed small Bible Study groups to discuss the Year of Mercy Celebration. There are still 2 sessions left and they take place on Sunday’s from 2:00-3:00pm, Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30pm and on Thurs-days from 10:00-11:00am or 6:30-7:30pm.
