HOLY FAMILY PARISHIONERS: Welcome to the Season of Lent this Wednesday! Our journey of 40 days is upon us, those days of re-form & renewal. The Lord will call us to change our hearts & minds from sin & to Him. The challenge of Lent is to see if we will accept the call to enter into the penance & sacrifice of the Lenten Season. Let’s think about the word SACRIFICE. We don’t often hear that word in today’s society. The media & advertising tell us we don’t need to give up anything or deny ourselves at all. Many times we are told that what-ever we want or need is what we are to have or do. How untrue these thoughts are! To be a Christian is to give to others, to do with less at times for our own good, to help those around us when it costs us in some way. Sacrifice can call us to see that we don’t need everything or the newest thing in order to be happy. Sacrifice en-ables us to get our priorities straight---to put God first & not always ourselves. Sacrifice is a way to cleanse our-selves of selfishness & pride. Will we be those sacrificing people for the Lord? He is the one who sacrificed His very life so we could be saved. Let the next 40 days be our sacrificial offering to our Lord. Please check the Lenten insert in this bulletin. It will give you times of Masses & Stations of the Cross, Bible Study, Rosary, Adoration, Reconciliation, & Lenten regulations. Also, attached to the bulletin this week is a Rice Bowl. We are asked to sacrifice some of our treas-ure to help those who have little or none. May we all enter this Lenten Season by being more prayerful, giving, sacrificing, & forgiving. May we be what Lent is all about, first & foremost--prayer, fasting, almsgiving, & works of charity. YOUR “LENTEN PASTOR,” FATHER JOE

ANNUAL CATHOLIC SERVICES APPEAL: THANK YOU to all those who have given to the ACSA Campaign. What a wonderful outpouring of generosity from many of you! Holy Family Parish continues to shine. May God bless abundantly those have donated. May we exceed our assessed goal of $80,088 as much as we are able!!

BEST LENT EVER is an opportunity to take an incredi-ble journey to become the-best-version-of-yourself with a free email program. To receive these daily emails with short inspirational videos from Matthew Kelly, go to dynamiccatholic.com/bestlentever to sign up.

BRAVO to all the Holy Family parish teens who were on the recent Mt. Zion High School Honor Rolls. We are very proud of them & their accomplishments!

WELCOME to 11 new 5th grade altar servers! They will begin to serve this weekend & following. We are happy to have them as ministers of the altar, helping Fa-ther Joe. We’re proud of these 11 young people!

A PARISHIONER’S REMARKS! I just finished listen-ing to Fr. Mike Schmitz’ talk “Changed Forever.” I loved it! I subscribe to his weekly podcast “Ascension Pre-sents” too. He sure is a bundle of energy!!! I’m kinda kicking myself for not spending my time researching “Formed” to learn and be inspired rather than wasting my time on the computer accomplishing nothing. That has changed from this moment on. Thank you for “Formed.”

  • HEARING AIDS are available for use during Mass.
