Enjoy an evening with The Telegraph columnist Alan Titchmarsh, who chats about his life in gardening and broadcasting, followed by a Q & A.

Day 2 Amsterdam/Keukenhof GardensAlan accompanies you to Keukenhof Gardens, one of the largest flower gardens in the world and an extraordinary sight especially in spring. Bursting with elaborate flower displays and tulips, against a backdrop of manicured lawns and meandering waterways, it was first turned into a spring garden in 1949 and has bloomed in popularity since. You will then have free time to explore Amsterdam. This evening, The Telegraph’s Sarah Raven joins the group for a informal talk and Q & A.

Day 3 Hortus Bulborum/VoornThis morning enjoy a special visit to Hortus Bulborum, along with Sarah. Established in 1928, the Hortus Bulborum is the only museum garden in the world devoted to the conservation of historic bulb varieties. Head back to the ship for lunch then enjoy time to explore the port of Hoorn to the north of Amsterdam. Once a mighty trading city, including a base for the Dutch East India Company, Hoorn has a bustling, picturesque harbour, an intriguing history and some absorbing museums.

Day 4 AntwerpSee the key sights in Antwerp, the historic Belgian port, now often referred to as the diamond capital of the world. Located on the banks of the River Scheldt, the city has a striking medieval heart with first-rate galleries, historic churches, cutting-edge boutiques and world-class restaurants. You also visit the city’s botanic gardens.

Day 5 Delta Project/VeereToday you have the chance to see the Delta Project, the storm surge barrier and flood defences constructed after the devastating North Sea floods of 1953. Alternatively explore Veere, an historical seafaring village on foot, or take a guided cycling tour of the village and its surroundings. This evening, you cruise past the delightful villages on the banks of the River Scheldt as we travel towards Rotterdam.

Day 6 Rotterdam/KinderdijkEnjoy a tour of dynamic Rotterdam, which includes a visit to Arboretum Trompenburg, the city’s beautifully landscaped botanical garden with a large collection of trees, shrubs, perennials, bulbs and tubers. Alternatively, choose to explore Vermeer’s birthplace, Delft, lined with remarkable historic buildings as well as the renowned Blue Pottery factory and museum. Later take in the panoramas at Kinderdijk, a UNESCO world heritage site known for its beautiful historic windmills.
