llopathic medicinetakes pride for itsevidence based

approach wherebyusage of allopathic drugs is

based on scientifically proven approach. But inreality, this is not so, asthere are numerous cases of pharmaceutical companies playing around with theevidence data merely toensure profit.

A pharmaceutical companywas recently fined US$3Billion by the Food andDrug Administration (FDA)

for several offences thatinclude concealing evi-dences that showed thattheir top selling anti-diabetic drug may not besafe to use. (The drugcauses 43% increased riskof heart attack!) The infa-mous Mayo Clinic revealedthat 90% of scientists whomwrote favourably about theanti-diabetic drug had finan-cial ties with the manufac-

    turer.

Another major pharmaceuti-cal company was finedUS$2.3 Billion for promot-ing of f - labe l uses(therapeutic use not ap-proved by the FDA) for four

    of its drugs.

It has been highlighted in a

major medical journal re-cently that many articlesregarding the effectivenessof drugs published in medi-cal journals worldwide werenot written by the famousscientists and doctors whosenames appeared as the au-thors, but instead were actu-ally ghost-written by sci-entists employed by phar-

    maceutical companies.

All these show that the so-called evidence based ap-

proach has been underminedfor mere monetary-making purpose and that this ap-proach ought to be replacedwith better ones that aremore reliable in terms of

    transparency.

Pharmaceutical industriesare more oriented towardsmoney-making rather than a plain honest intention ofcuring diseases. These can be seen from the fact thatsome pharmaceutical giantswere caught red handed forunethical actions.

    For example, Nigerian gov-

omplementary and AlternativeMedicine (CAM) refers to the practice of using natural waysto help the body heal from a

disease. CAM is a group of diversemedical and health care systems, prac-tices and products that are presently notconsidered part of conventional medi-cine (Allopathy). These include the practice of Ayurveda, Homoeopathy,Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)and thousands more.

Allopathy on the other hand refers to the practice of conventional medicine thatuses pharmacologically active agents or physical interventions to treat or sup- press symptoms or pathophysiologic processes of diseases or conditions.

Interest in CAM has been surgingthroughout the world so much that re-cently in Europe, a bill to forbid TCMhas been tabled thanks to the pressurefrom the pharmaceutical industry.

Some of the reasons why patients areseeking CAM include dissatisfactionswith modern healthcare providers andmedical outcomes, side effects of drugsand high costs. Patients also preferCAM systems over Allopathy becauseCAM systems focus on healing the body, mind and spirit, instead of justalleviating the symptoms of the disease.Modern research and development intechnology has also helped enhance thetreatment procedures offered by CAM

    systems.

Allopathic doctors today have becomeso specialised in treating the body partsthat they forget that the whole bodyshould be seen functioning as One. Ho-listic treatment is one of the characteris-tics of CAM. The human body is treatedas a whole and not merely the disease

    causing the symptoms.

Allopathic medicine relies on the con-cept of identifying diseases and symp-toms before prescribing drugs to man-age or alleviate those conditions. In thissystem, the disease or symptom is con-sidered to be the actual problem, as op-posed to CAMs approach of addressing

the underlying causes that produced the

    disease or symptom.

Treatment in CAM are more individual-ised to the extent that it may vary foreach patient as compared to allopathicmedicine that tends to merely suppressthe symptoms with the same types anddoses of drugs for all. CAM is thereforemore personal and flexible in its ap- proach, and has big appeal among pa-tients whom have failed therapeutic out-come after consuming allopathic drugs.

For example, a conventional doctor whohas 20 patients with asthma will oftenprovide each of them with the same pro-

tocol, thus treating the condition and notthe patients themselves. An alternativemedicine practitioner realises thatasthma has many causes. Perhaps thecause is an allergic reaction, or a viralinfection, or even maybe diminishednerve supply due to a misaligned spine.CAM practitioners work towards find-ing the root cause of each patient's con-dition and treat each of them differently. This difference between approaches isthe cornerstone of alternative medicine.

CAM is also more personal than allo-pathic medicine because of the fact thatCAM physicians spend a longer dura-tion to assess and diagnose the disease.Feedback from the patients during diag-nosis are also critically analysed to findthe root cause of a particular disease. Most allopathic physicians on the otherhand merely have contact with patientsas low as 5 minutes for the diagnosisprocess, especially in the ever busy gov-ernment hospitals. CAMs effective link

between physicians and patients there-fore helps result in a more accurate di-

    agnosis.

Nonetheless, allopathic medicine excelsin emergency situations, especiallythose which would be otherwise fatalsuch as life-threatening accidents, ill-nesses and diseases. Alternative medi-cine may not do much of a success inemergency situations as it is not de-signed to be so. Although this is so, allo- pathic treatment does not perpetuate

good health in the long term as manyside effects of the drugs administeredhave been observed. According to theprinciples and philosophy of CAM, long-term suppression of symptoms maygive rise to newer diseases as the previ-ous toxins responsible for the initialproblem were not completely eliminatedfrom the body system.

CAM, which used to be the defaultmedicine system before Allopathy tookits place, and for which we owe our ex-istence to since it helped maintain ourancestors health for centuries, should

be revived and developed extensively. The effectiveness of CAM does notmean that Allopathy has no place, butthe view that Allopathy is the answer toall diseases ought to be changed.

There may be a need to take the best out

of both worlds so as to ensure a higherquality of health among patients. In re-cent years, CAM is increasingly usedhand-in-hand with allopathic medicine. For example, aromatherapy may be usedto help lessen a patients discomfort

following surgery. Beginning of the year2012, the government of Malaysia hasalso affirmed the efficacy of TraditionalChinese Medicine (TCM) by setting upnine TCM units at local major govern-ment hospitals.

nes life is simply a reflection of

    their belief system caused by

the daily feeding of affirma-tions in ones subconscious

mind, be it positive or negative. Whenyou begin to understand this, you cannow use affirmations in the right way totransform your life. Affirmations aresimply statements that are constantlyrepeated verbally or within an individualthat form ones belief system.

It does not matter how you have pro-grammed your subconscious mind in the past to shape your current life. You

might have assimilated other peoplessuggestions unconsciously, and evenaccepted negative suggestions from yourfamily or friends that they are now inter-nalised and are part of your thought-routine. Those that are created can also

    be destroyed.

All that are not pleasant to you are notabsolute. Revise those unlovely imagesin your mind, and it shall change. Re-

place those negative thoughts with posi-tive ones, and when persisted in, yourcircumstances shall begin to shapethemselves to the ideal life that you so

    desire.

It is the nature of the mind to fluctuatefrom time to time, but whenever youfind yourself convinced that a negativesuggestion or thought to be true, remem- ber that whatever ideal you surrender

your mind to,it shall becometrue to yourcircumstances. So pull your-

self together and remember that theSource of all creation is all-pervasive,omnipresent, omniscient and omnipo-tent. This power is latent within everyMan. Nothing can fail you lest you failyourself.

If you know who You really are, all are possible unto you. Every night whenyou retire to bed, invoke the special giftof imagination. This world is but adream. It is a multi-faceted dream, which the dreamer dreamt it into being.

Lie in your bed quietly and relax allmuscles. When you begin to feel that thebody is completely at ease and are aboutto drift off to sleep, you have reachedthe border between wake and sleep. Ac-cording to Mental Science, this is theAlpha state. This state is achieved whenthe mind has been stilled from its end-less chatters and is highly favourable inthe art of visualisation for it is the bridge between your conscious and subcon-scious mind. This is the best time foryou to take control of all your sensesand redirect them to play the image of

the ideal you so desire so that your sub-conscious mind will be impregnated bythe ideas you introduced by your con-scious mind. Remember to onlyexperience the end.

For example, if what you want is to be promoted, then the most natural endresult would be to be congratulated forit. Create a scene in your mind and ex- perience the event with all your innersenses. You may imagine that your bossis congratulating you. Listen to his

voice with your inner ear. Observe hisface as he congratulates you. Feel his

handshake or his pat on your shoulderfor your success. Feel the joy and

gratitude that your dream has now mate-rialised. Repeat the scene over and over

again until you drift off to sleep.

How the scene will materialise in yourobjective reality is unimportant. Natureabhors a vacuum. Your current life cir-

cumstances will begin to shape them-selves to be the perfect end result that

    you have experienced within.

I had a student, Miss U.W., from theUnited Kingdom who loved to cook and

needed a blender. She was however notwilling to part with her money to buy it.I suggested to her to invoke the powerof her imagination to bring her a free blender. Every night without fail, shewould switch the blender on and off in

her imagination, again and again in hermind until she fell asleep. One weeklater, as she was walking home fromwork, she was compelled from within totake another lane, which she had nevertaken before. Miss U.W. came across aretail store that was closing down. Out-side the advertising window was a

blender, sold for only 5 per piece. Theoriginal price was 20! She happilybought the blender and gave me a phonecall to tell me of her success of imagi-

nation. I however reminded her that weagreed upon a free blender and not a

5 pound blender. Advising her not tocompromise, she was to again experi-ence within her that she had already

    received a free blender.

A few days later, Miss U.W. rang meand said that one of her friends had to

leave the country abruptly due to familyreasons and was giving her things away. What she got from this friend was a

    blender!

Another student of mine from Malaysia,Mr. R.C. also wanted a blender to makehis own natural facial mask. He too didnot want to spend a dime on it. I nar-rated to him Miss U.W.'s success ofgetting the free blender, and he decidedto repeat the technique. Few days later,he wrote me an e-mail saying that his

father's bank had sent him a catalogue toexchange his credit card points for freegifts. His points were just enough toexchange for a free blender, and he did!

All that you behold, though it appears tobe without, it is within, in your imagina-tion of which this world of mortality isbut a shadow.

editation is a practice of stillingthe mind. The practice of medi-tation is not reserved solely for

those who have decided to leave theirfamily and friends, and run off to theforest in a saffron robe. Meditation is apractice for all and the benefits of prac-

    ticing meditation are endless.

People used to associate the practice ofmeditation with finding their higherSelf. Nowadays, meditation is recom-mended for many different reasons in-cluding relaxation, health, goal-achieving and more. Whatever yourreason may be, when you practice medi-

tation, you are sure to reap its benefits.

One of the most prominent benefits ofmeditation is its role in releasing stressfrom our bodies. Practiced regularly, meditation has been observed to keep an

individual happy and relaxed. Whenevera regular meditator faces a problem, heor she is likely to deal with the issuewith a clear mind instead of an agitatedone. Many meditators have also reportedof increased self-confidence and energylevels and healing of various diseasessuch as asthma, gastritis and more.

Many different methods of meditationare present today; however, all methods

aim to still the mind. Methods are many, aim is one. Possibilities are infinitewhen one taps into the field of con-

    sciousness with a still mind.

Almost all motivational coaches todayinclude meditation in their coachingregimen because they know how power-ful stilling the mind is. When the mindis still, one is able to direct his or herconscious mind in impregnating thesubconscious mind with an ideal,

which will materialise in ones objective

reality over time. In touch with ones

inner Self when practicing meditation, one is more composed and will hence beclearer of his or her life's objectives. They will therefore invest their time andenergy going in the direction that they

    feel drawn to within.

Meditation is easy and can be practicedanywhere at any given moment. All youhave to do is to simply still your mindfor a few minutes (preferably 20-30minutes) every day. Just close your eyesand be one with your breath. Do notattempt to control your breathing. Your

role is just to observe your breath. Thatis your inherent nature an observer. The mind often loves to associate itself

with forms. When something intrudes itsstillness, draw it back to your breath. Astime passes, you will begin to notice thatyour breath is becoming shorter and

    lighter.

Some meditators who have practicedmeditation regularly for years also ex- perience the no thought and n

breath state. This is when the meditator

becomes One with the entire Universalforce, a state also known in Hindu scrip-tures as Samadhi. The state of Samadhi

bestows one abundant flow of CosmicEnergy. Some meditators have also beenable to leave their physical bodies, granting them the awareness that theyare not confined to the flesh but are infact, infinite beings. This is known asout of body experiences or astral projec-tions. The continuous activation of theThird Eye chakra has also given somethe ability to recall past life memoriesand much, much more.

You have nothing to lose, but all to gain

    by practicing meditation.

key was doing something amazing. Hewould shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbours continued toshovel dirt on top of the animal, hewould shake it off and take a step up.Pretty soon, everyone was amazed asthe donkey stepped up over the edge ofthe well and happily trotted off!

Moral of the story:At times, what appears to be negative, may not really be negative at all. It alldepends on how you take a 'negative'situation and make it a positive tool foryou to better your life.

Just as W. Clement Stone has said be-fore, "In every adversity, there is a seed

One day a farmer's donkey fell downinto a well that the farmer had acciden-tally left uncovered.

The animal cried piteously for hours asthe farmer tried to figure out what todo. Finally, he decided the animal wasold, and the well needed to be coveredup anyway, so it just wasn't worth it toretrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbours to comeover and help him. They all grabbed a

shovel and began to shovel dirt into thewell.

At first, the donkey realised what washappening and cried horribly. Then, toeveryone's amazement he quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmerfinally looked down the well. He wasastonished at what he saw. With eachshovel of dirt that hit his back, the don-

    for a greater benefit."

Had the donkey just stood there to la-ment of its fate, instead of doing some-thing about it, it would not have gottenout of the well. Each trouble is a step- ping stone towards something betterWe just need to be still and inspect thesituation to see what we can do to makethe most out of it.

was written especially for you! With thehigh pollution rate in the world today, there are many chronic sufferers from aterrible case of acne beginning fromtheir secondary school days. Due to this,a wide range of anti-acne products, claimed to be effective in overcomingthe problem, are available in the market

    today.

The products sold on the market to com-

bat acne are usually filled with chemi-cals (as many modern products for acneare still today) and may not even fit thesize of your pocket. Nevertheless, theagony that one suffers from acne orpimples would lead one to overlook anyseemingly negative effect that these

    products may bring.

Acne sufferers tend to be more vulner-able to suffer from lower self-esteem asthey are highly conscious of their ap-pearances. A sufferer may be impatient

in wanting to see instant results, andthey therefore jump from one product toanother just to find a bigger hole in their pockets with no significant improve-

    ment on their faces.

If this sounds like your story, fear notfor the remedy is just within your reach! The miraculous word to end your acne-pimple misery is potatoes! This cureis so common that you may even find

one now in your kitchen. Otherwise, it is

not at all expensive to purchase somenow from your local market .

Many people whom have suffered froma terrible case of acne have found usingpotatoes effective in clearing their acne. The results are almost instant. Potatoescan be a natural remedy to many healthconditions. This article will howeverfocus on using potatoes to rid one from

    his or her acne misery.

    Method:

All you need is a potato (preferablythe small-sized ones so that you do

    not waste it).

Cut 2 slices from it, and rub thesticky side against your entire

face. (If your case is severe, cutanother two slices, and do the

    same).

Leave it to dry naturally for about30-60 minutes before washing itoff.

    Repeat procedure preferably twice a

    day (morning and night).

    Note: Severe acne sufferers shouldleave it on whole night when you go to b e d f o r o p t i m u m r e s u l t s .

    Progress:

If you have followed the procedurestrictly as introduced in the above, youshould be able to see results very soon. After your first few applications, how-

ever, the acne/pimples may seem toworsen. Do not hesitate to continue theregimen as it is only drawing out thetoxins and preparing your skin for thehealing process to take place. in the above).

ave you ever heard of the popu-lar product called SK-II? I amsure many of you must knowthat SK-II is one of the most

expensive beauty products available inthe market today. For those of you whohave not heard of SK-II before, it is ba-sically a product that is well known toutilise an ingredient known as pitera,

which has been claimed to be beneficialin revitalizing the skins natural renewal

cycle to give you a crystal clear skin.

Pitera is found in rice and its benefitswere observed since time immemorial

    amongst Japanese ladies.

The benefits of rice water have beendiscussed widely over the world forages. Elderly people used to give adviceto their younger generations to washtheir face with rice water as it containsvarious nutrients that may remove se- bum, rejuvenate, lighten and smoothenthe skin, and plays an active role in pre-venting numerous types of skin prob-

    lems.

All you have to do is to keep aside thewater used to wash rice before cookingit. It is best to use the rice water fromthe first wash. The water will appear

cloudy because you are actually wash-

ing off the starch so that the rice wouldnot stick together when you cook it. Ifhowever, you are afraid that the watermay be dirty, you can store the waterfrom the second rinse.

the rice water that you stored earlierwith both your palms and pat the wateron your whole face. Let the water dry

    naturally.

Follow this method twice a day, morn-ing and evening, for best results. Youwill soon notice that your face is lighter, smoother and possess a naturally beauti-ful glow. The desired results will beobtained when this method is practiced

    regularly over time.

Additionally, it is also beneficial foryour skin to rice-steam your face. Regu-lar water-steaming by itself is great todraw the unwanted substances fromunderneath your skin. This is ideal for

people having pimples or acne, though itmay worsen the condition at the begin-ning but will begin to clear up aftersome time. It is really just like regularwater-steaming; the only difference isyou use the steam from cooking rice todo your facial-spa. The steam does notonly confer one beauty benefits but also

plays a part in relaxing ones facial mus-

cle and is great in calming down ones

mind after a long stressful day.

After the steam, beware not to washyour face immediately. Wipe the wateroff your face first with a clean towel /tissue and wait for awhile (about 5 min-utes), or you may end up having a skincondition called pityriasis if you washyour face immediately. Then, rinse yourface with very cold water and wash itwith your regular cleanser. Remember

to tone your skin as the steam wouldhave opened your pores earlier.Do rice-steaming at least TWICE aweek to keep your skin in tip-top condi-tion. If however, you are unable to do itTWICE a week for whatever reasons, try to keep up with the once-a-weekregimen to enjoy the benefits of rice-

    steaming.

Combining the practices of the rice-steaming and leaving the rice-water onyour face regimens, your skin will be at

    your satisfaction.

AM sure that you all have heard

of the famous saying before thatHEALTH IS WEALTH.

    Health, is indeed ones ultimate

wealth, for without health, whateverriches you may possess, without thehealth to enjoy it, it is as good as nothaving it. In todays society, many suf-

fer from various diseases. Dis-easesimply means that the body is not atease. Diseases usually attack a body thatis prone to stress. When one is stressedout, one usually dwells on agitatedthoughts, which then makes the entire

body vulnerable to various types of dis-eases. Stress causes an individual to nothave clear thoughts and having distortedthoughts would mean emitting distortedenergy-signals, which would probablydraw undesirable results back to them.

If one is familiar with Dr. Emotos re-

search regarding the secrets of water, one would already know that the re-search discovered that water is ex-tremely sensitive to suggestions. Forthose who are not already familiar with

Dr. Emotos discovery, I will brieflyintroduce this discovery to you here.

Dr. Masaru Emoto is a Japanese authorwho first discovered that water is easilysusceptible to suggestions from varioussources. This is visible by the proofsthat he himself has provided by photo-graphing the frozen water crystals afterexperimenting it under various types ofstimuli. The most popular experimentswere to paste written words in variouslanguages on a bottle of water, and then photographing the water crystals hours

later. His research has led him to writevarious books such as 'Messages fromWater' and 'Hidden Message in Wa-ter' that have been published and alsoreceived a big hit internationally.

These are examples of the water crystalsamples that have been photographedafter the water has been exposed to vari-ous stimuli:

(Bottle of water words written; Love

    and Gratitude)

It is also visible from the research that polluted water has extremely distortedwater crystals when photographed. Anexample is the one shown below:

(Water Crystal from a polluted water

    source)

Nevertheless, as water is very respon-sive to words, this structure of waterchanged after having been exposed to

prayers, and thus became this:According to the theory of VibrationalMedicine, water has an excellent mem-ory. This reflects Dr. Emotos discovery

that water is indeed susceptible to sug-gestions. This knowledge would play avery significant influence in our daily

lives as an average body of a human being possesses about 55-75% volumeof water. Since this is the case, does thatnot mean that a human body is practi-cally MOSTLY made of WATER? Thiswould also mean that a human body issusceptible to suggestions, be it positiveor negative!

Therefore, for one to stay healthy, thinkhealthy thoughts. Free yourself fromunhealthy thoughts that may hold youback. Dr. John Goldthwait, in his book

The Power of Thoughts, gave an ex-ample of a patient suffering from a crip- pling and painful arthritic experience. All the patient had to do was to searchthe root of this crippling and painfulexperience in her thoughts to be freedfrom it. Her inability to forgive herselffor having not been with her motherduring her last days had caused her toclose her heart and thus become immo- bilized and crippled from moving on

with her life. Her condition mirrored herreluctance of forgiving herself and let-

ting go of the past. Thus, the only solu-tion for her was to discover that thesenegative thoughts were responsible forher suffering, and thus, letting them go.She was almost instantly relieved fromher painful suffering.

From this post, one should already beassured that negative thoughts play no beneficial role in deciding the healthstate of an individual. Thus, instead ofdwelling on negative thoughts, lightenup, relieve the stress factor in your lifeand dwell only on positive thoughts.

o you believe in this wordcalled luck? I believe many

people do and some may evenlabel themselves as being

lucky all the time, or even unlucky.

When something that seems too good

to be true happens, more often than not,

most people will just write it off assheer luck. This similarly accounts for

unwanted circumstances that take placein ones life as well.

As you can see, many people thus be-lieve in an external power that is respon-sible in governing their lives and shap-

ing their circumstances. Many lead ontheir lives believing that they have gotno control whatsoever in producing theresults or outcome that they so desire intheir lives. This common misconceptionis one that gave birth to the term calledluck. Many fall and define their lives

by this word called luck. So, it is no

wonder that the lives of these peoplehave an oscillating effect of temporalhappiness and misery.

Today, I am writing this article to show

you that the true power indeed does liewithin yourself, and not at all dependanton any other external circumstance orsource. To begin with, I would like tonarrate to you a story of an 83 year oldwoman. This 83 year old woman, whenseen on the side of the road, would auto-matically be dismissed as merely anordinary 83 year old. She is, however, not as ordinary as she may seem for sheis much more than that; she is a livingenigma. This lady had won a notablylarge number of prizes from various

contests so much so that she is labeledas The Winning Sage. Prizes such aswashing machines, te levisions,Hammond organs, out-board motors, free trips, cash prizes and many morehave been won by this lady over theyears of her life. It has been reportedthat by the year 1982, she has practicallywon over 5,000 prizes and she has hadtoo many prizes that she had to givethem away.

Sounds amazing? To top that, her big-gest achievement in her art-of-winningwas winning herself a luxurious homefrom Formica Inc., having been chosenout of 2 million entries. These state-ments may appear bizarrely impossibleto believe but this astounding woman isnone other than 83 year old MadamHelene Hadsell herself.

    (Miracle winnerHelen Hadsell)

You must now be wondering as to howHelene Hadsell did this. For one, shedefinitely does not believe in luck,

chance or accidents. The uncanny abilityof this Alvarado, Texas lady to win any-thing she desires has been published bynewspapers and magazines.

    Helenes remarkable ability to manifest

for herself the prizes she desire is owedto a book that she had read over 50years ago. Back then, Helene was onlyan ordinary 33-year-old housewife liv-ing with her husband and her three chil-dren. Their home back then was inGrand Prairie, Texas and was but amodest one. Their lives were comfort-able, but not at all luxurious enough tohave extras. Their lives began to changeafter Helene discovered the book written by Norman Vincent Peale titled The Power of Positive Thinking. The basisof Norman Vincent Peales message in

that book was that you can have any-

thing you want so long you know whatexactly it is that you want! Saying thus,

that was and still is the notion thatHelene lives by ever since then.

Helene does not view the ability tomanifest ones desire as something

magical. In fact, it is actually some-

thing that anyone can do, provided thatthey realize their innate power and be-lieve in it. This skill will only get better

and better in time with constant practiceand there is absolutely NO such thing asfailure. There may, however, be a delayin results.

Madam Hadsell is not the only one inher family who is capable of turning herdreams into reality. She has, in fact, taught this skill to her entire family thatthey collaborated by participating inmany contests together. They worked asa team by each contributing their posi-tive energy, creative ideas and active

visioning. Each of Helenes familymembers has then been capable ofachieving their own dreams. Intriguedwith the skill that his mother has taughthim, Helenes son Chris entered contests

that won the family a trip to Disneyland.

So, what is Helenes secret? To summa-

rise Helenes secret, she designed a four

-step formula, which in short is knownas SPEC:1) Select it.2) Project it.

    3) Expect it.4) Collect it.

Recently, she has put together her secrettechniques to let the society benefit fromthem. Again, a remarkable story accom-panies as to the how she got to sell mil-lions of copies of her book ('Name it &Claim it') worldwide.

According to Joe Vitales (an interna-

tional personal development coach)story, there was a young man who wasso broke that he lived in his car whohelped Helene publish her book. He hadno money, no experience and did noteven know where to begin. He neverthe-less had a very clear goal; he wanted tomake ONE MILLION DOLLARS andthen move to India. Helene had a similargoal that she wanted to also make a mil-lion dollars and open a center of herown to teach these principles. These twoagreed that the man would pay her aroyalty of 50% (something unheard of

till today) for every book sold. The man began his mission and Helene trustedhim, despite receiving oppositions fromher late husband. She surrendered, let goand allowed things to unfold by itselffor she believed that if its meant to

be, it will be. Six months later, the

man in question returned and handed hera check with a large amount of money. He achieved his goal; he made his mil-lion dollars and moved to India whileHelene was given back her full right onher book, had her money and opened her

    center.

From Helenes story, one can draw the

    conclusion that people arent born

lucky or unlucky. For Helene, she is

what most term as lucky because she

embodies within her a winning attitude.Helene said that there is no (such

thing as) happenstance. She lives her

life expecting to win, and she does!

Holistic living is a system that workstowards achieving balance between themind, body and spirit. To lead a holisticlifestyle is to adhere to practices thatwill benefit you as a whole person. Thisinvolves nurturing the physical body, mind and spirit in the most natural waypossible, giving it a greater freedom ofexpression from within so that one feelscomplete.

Some of the core areas in Life that Manseek to perfect today include health, finances, career, relationships and spiri-tuality. The key to holistic living is toachieve balance in all of these areas, which will bestow us a more fulfillinglife. We are in harmony with all naturalelements in the Universe when balanceis attained, and we therefore possessgreater willpower in carrying out ourdaily tasks and working towards the

mission we have set for ourselves in life.

Imbalance in any area may cause one tobe more susceptible to various diseasesand therefore distort them from theirlifes vision. The importance of balance

has been proposed to be the key of liv-ing a good and meaningful life. This canbe observed through the concept of Yinand Yang, the practice of Yoga and so

    on.

More people today are seeking for alter-native methods of healing instead ofsolely relying on modern western medi-cine, also known as Allopathy, whichuse pharmacologically active agents tosuppress symptoms of diseases insteadof curing them from their roots. Alterna-tive systems of medicine, which employmore natural ways to help the body heal, such as Yoga, Homoeopathy, Ayurveda,

Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acu- puncture are becoming increasingly popular. Alternative Medicine physi-cians treat a disease by healing a per-

    sons body, mind and spirit.

One should also adhere to a healthy life-style regimen such as maintaining a proper healthy diet, regular exercise, sufficient rest and most importantly, tohave a strong positive belief system.Strolling in the parks or forests will alsohelp one connect with nature, which aregreat stress-relievers, helping you toreach the centre within you. After all, that is what holistic living is all about.

Honour each and every person in yourlife for they have come into your lifes

experience to exchange lessons to helpeach other grow. This is the key to re-leasing any negative emotions you haveof anothers wrongdoing against you. It

is always easier to let go than to holdonto a grudge. Nonetheless, keepinggood company is important, for onlybirds of the same feather flock together.Use your heart to determine if thegroups of friends you now cling to areinfluencing you positively or otherwise. If you know they are not good influencefor your life, it is better to just stay as hi-bye acquaintances in this physical

world, as you continue on your journeyin staying focus of centering yourself.
