Hours of Operation: Our service is open from 7:00am – 6:00pm. Parents are expected to pick up theirchild/ren by 6:00pm. A late pick up fee of $15 per 15 minutes (or part thereof) per family will apply.

Cost: $46.00 per day per person. On excursion days or days on which community entertainment is provided, anadditional cost is applicable. Daily costs are listed on the program at the back of this booklet.Child Care Benefit is available, please provide your CRN’s to the centre or contact Dept of HumanServices to apply.

Bookings: The holiday care booking form must be completed and given to the Co-ordinator byWednesday 14 th September to avoid the $5 per child per day attending late fee. Conditions:Holiday Care bookings will only be accepted through completion of the appropriate booking form distributed withthe program. Holiday Care bookings taken after the specified cutoff date (Wednesday 14 th September) will becharged an additional late booking fee of $5 per child per day attending.Holiday Care bookings will only be accepted if the family account for all previous care is paid in full. All fees inrelation to Holiday Care must be paid on receipt of holiday statement or one week before the child begins holidaycare at the centre. Account statements are printed or e-mailed out on the Wednesday before Holiday Care starts. Itis your responsibility to collect and provide payment. Failure to do so may result in an automatic cancellation ofbookings.

Cancellations. Cancellations made with less than 7 days notice will be charged the full fee for the session, including

any incursion/excursion fee costs. Cancellations made with 7 days notice or more, will incur a fee equal to half the standard daily cost,

plus any additional incursion/excursion costs.

All children must be signed in and out on the attendance roll by a parent or guardian each day that your childattends. Staff are not allowed to sign children in or out. Each day breakfast, morning and afternoon tea areprovided. The activities we provide include art and crafts, cooking, sports, outdoor games and more. See theprogram at the back of the booklet for full details.

Requirements for childrenEach day, please ensure that your child has:Hat (wide brimmed not a cap with name marked clearly on it. No hat, no play outside)Sensible/Comfy sun safe clothing that can get wet/messy (or a change of clothes for especially messy days!)Sensible/comfy shoes (no shoes with heels)Apply sun block at home. Centre will provide sunscreen throughout the day. Please provide your own brand ofsunscreen if your child has any allergies or aversions to the YOSHC sunscreenAmple lunch and drinks (except where stated otherwise) Please ensure you provide a water bottle for your child.Red shirt for excursion days

We do not supply lunch! (Unless Specified)Lunches should have a high nutritional value for the children. Food items such as sandwiches, fruit, vegetables andsalads etc are preferred. Please consider freezer blocks or appropriate foods for the hot summer months as we arenot able to provide fridge space for all the children. We also ask that you do not send with your child any food thatrequires preparation at the centre e.g. Noodles. The management committee request that no nut products suchas Peanut Butter or Nutella be brought to the centre, in order for the centre to meet the requirements ofduty of care. Any queries can be directed to the Co-ordinator.

Children should wear clothes that are easily cleaned, as they will be involved in a variety of messy activities.Children must wear a helmet and safety gear when riding on scooters, bikes or roller blades. Skateboards are not tobe brought to the centre. Yeronga Outside School Hours Care does not take responsibility for any propertythat your child brings to the centre whilst in our care, this includes toys, clothing, bikes, jewellery, helmets,CDs, DVDs, computer games etc. We ask that all toys are to be left at home.REMINDER: Yeronga Outside School Hours Care staff reserve the right to request aphoto id of parents/guardians, relatives, school and community. This ensures thesafety of the children and staff of YOSHC.

EXTRA INFORMATION

PLEASE NOTE! WE DO MESSY, MUDDY, WET, ACTIVE (AND FUN!) PLAY EVERYDAY OVER THE HOLIDAYS. PLEASE WEAR APPROPRIATE (OLD! N o special, new, precious outfits! ) CLOTHES AND PACK A SPARE SET IN CASE A CHANGE IS NEEDED!

On Tuesday the 20th of September we will be having a water play and swimming day. The morning session will consist of wet and water play and the afternoon will be spent at the Yeronga Park Pool (between 12.30pm – 3.30pm). Please ensure your child has a hat, togs, towel, goggles and a sunsafe shirt. YOSHC will advise children to apply and reapply sunscreen and zinc throughout the afternoon. They will also need to bring Lunch (for before the pool) and a large water bottle. Canteen facilities are available at the pool for snacks/treats only (please ensure main lunch is packed from home). Please send a maximum of $5.00 with your child if you wish your child to use this facility.

On Wednesday the 21st of September we will be having an excursion to the Redlands Indigiscapes Centre and gardens at Capalaba. We will be travelling by belted private busand children will need to be at YOSHC by 9.00am. We will return by approximately 3.30pm. During the day we will be participating in bushwalks and nature exploration at Indigiscapes, as well as seed planting and a BBQ lunch provided by YOSHC. Please en-sure your child has sensible walking shoes, a wide-brimmed hat and large water-bottle.

Please ensure your child wears a red shirt on excursion days for easier identification.

On Friday the 23rd of September we will be having a WOMAD (World Music and Dance) Festival at YOSHC and the team from e.g. incursions will be bringing their African Dance Workshop to us. Children will learn about the dance and culture of Africa during their 45 minute workshop. Children will need to wear clothing and shoes appropri-ate for exercise and dancing and bring their enthusiasm and energy!

On Tuesday the 27th of September we will be going to New Farm Park. Children will need to be at YOSHC by 9.00am. We will be travelling to and from New Farm Park by public transport (train + city cat). At the park the children will have the chance to play on the play equipment and in the trees and we will have a picnic lunch before returning to YOSHC. Please ensure your child has adequate lunch (they eat a lot on excursion days!) and that they have sensible walking shoes, a wide-brimmed hat and large wa-terbottle. We will be returning to the centre at approximately 3.30pm.

On Thursday the 29th of September we will be having an incursion from Ocean Life Education. They will be running their “Human Impact” program for us and during the session the children will learn about our oceans and waterways and have the chance to see live marine animals.

If your child / children are attending Holiday Care, we will be showing PG rated movies as a part of our daily activities. If you do not want your child to watch a PG movie please speak to the coordinator on duty. Children will have the choice as to whether they’d like to watch the movie or partake in another activity.

If your child needs to be administered medication during Holiday Care, the medication must be: in its original packaging, with the prescribed dosage and the child’s name prin-ted on it. Without this, we are not allowed to administer any medication – this includes Nurofen & Panadol.

Swimming Permission and Abilities Form

During Holiday Care we will have a swimming day on Tuesday20th of September at Yeronga Pool, from approximately 12.30pm to 3:30 pm.

Catching a train from Yeronga Station. The children will depart the service at 9.00am and walk to the Yeronga

train station where they will board the 9.36am train to South Brisbane Station. At South Brisbane station they

will walk through South Bank to the City Cat terminal and board a City Cat for New Farm Park. They will then

walk from the New Farm City Cat terminal to the playground area at New Farm Park.

Having lunch and playing at the New Farm Park and playground including the large trees in the area.

Returning to YOSHC via public transport, leaving the New Farm City Cat terminal at 2.08pm and transferring to

a train at South Brisbane station, returning to the centre at approximately 3.30pm.

*Note, alternative train services may be taken depending on timing on the day.

Accompanied by the appropriate number of supervisors required to meet the 1:8 ratio for up to 60 children.
