Dear Parent,

The summer holidays provide not only a welcome respite to the

children but also act as rejuvenating and revitalizing experience

for them. For this, it is imperative that they use this time for

pursuing various creative and purposeful activities. Every game,

every friendly scuffle, every experience of life adds a little more

to their skills and personality. Any activity can become an

interesting learning experience for a child.

When children are given simple tasks to do, it enhances their self confidence and sense of responsibility.

Remember to compliment children for their work. There are many simple chores around the house that

children can easily do. For instance, putting away toys after play, help in dusting the house, arranging

cupboards, looking after the pets, watering plants, wiping and arranging utensils and so on depending on

the age and capability of the child.

Activity 1

Go for walk with the family. You will realize you have two of God’s

greatest gifts….. NATURE and your FAMILY. Do not forget to thank

GOD for these gifts every night. This is your chance to look after your

parents, grandparents, elders and even your younger brothers and

sisters. You can surely be of some help around the house. Learn to be

self dependent. Try to make your own bed, learn to wear your clothes,

tie your shoelace and do other odd jobs.

Activity 2

Take 2 bowls. Keep these bowls on the terrace or in the lawn. Keep

grains in one bowl and water in the other. After a few days see different

birds visiting your house for food and water. Click photographs and

show them to your friends after the vacation.

Activity 3 Water world :

How you can save water?

You know there is drought in few states in India. Take initiative and

with the help of your parents and people in your colony and tell them

how much precious water is and how we can save it. ENGLISH:

Activity 4 Observation Ask students to go to the park, observe the surroundings and do

the following in a scrap book:

a. Write a report on your observation and describe what you see in

the park (children playing on the swings, trees, plants, group of

children playing cricket, etc.).

b. Also make a drawing what you observe. You can draw children

playing on the swings, trees, plants, group of children playing

cricket, etc.

Activity 5 Spending time with your grandparents Parents are requested to send the children to their grandparents and

let them learn moral values and stories from them. So that they

learn something from their experience and cultivate values

required in todays time.

SCIENCE:

Activity 6 Field Trip Visit a zoo with your parents and express your feelings by making

a collage on a chart paper.

Hint: Animals also have feelings like us. They are not happy in

cage. How to treat and save them?

Activity 7 Adopt a plant Adopt a sapling. Take care of it and water it timely for a period of

one month. Note down the changes you observe in a scrap book.

Also take pictures of the plant at every stage of change and paste

these pictures in a scrapbook.

Sexual Harassment includes unwelcome physical or verbal things done because someone is a boy or a girl that makes them feel

uncomfortable.

Forms of Sexual Harassment

1. Physical :- Include unwelcome touching, grabbing, pinching, hugging, stroking or blocking a person path.

2. Verbal :- Include requests or demands for sexual favours, questions, about sexual fantasies, or practices innuendoes or jokes and

remarks of sexual nature.

3. Visual :- It include leering, staring, looking a person up and down making absence gestures and displaying sexually explicit

pictures objects and cartoons.

Difference between Good Touch and Bad Touch

Good Touch :- It feel, pleasant and good, it is a very to show care, love and help for, example - when yours mother hugs you or

father gives you a good night kiss or your grandparents hold you in their arms and you hold your hands while playing.

Bad Touch :- Touches that make you uncomfortable and you feel unpleasant and you want to stop it there and them for example - it

is a bad touch if you feel hurt, if you don’t want to be touched, if someone touches your private parts without a reason, if someone

touch you and tells you not to tell anyone.
