HOLIDAY HOME WORK
The dictionary meaning of gender is – the class in which a noun or pronoun is placed in grammatical grouping
{in English, these are masculine or feminine}
The aim of gender sensitization to make people aware of the power relations between men and women in
society and to understand the importance of affording women and men equally opportunities and
treatment
Gender sensitization refers to the modification of behavior by raising awareness of gender equality
concerns .
Now a days women are paying equal contribution as men in all the spheres of life whether it is at home
or outside. They are working as Police, Defence, Doctor, Engineer and many others. But still there is a
belief that women are inferior to men is still deeply rooted in our society now a days. We indeed see
improvements in one way or another, however, this does not mean gender equality has been at all
achieved. We feel weird if the female is the dominant one in the family instead of a man. It's a matter of
stereotype that we are never able to get rid of completely.
Write any 5 ways of removing this Gender inequality existing in the society and I know it is possible if
we change the way we view gender, basically as long as we disregard it

The project can be submitted in the form of Powerpoint presentation/ Chart / Collage as being specified

SUMMER HOLIDAY HOME WORK-2013
1) In VIIIth class you have recently studied three group of verbs:
f. First group verbs (-er)
g. Second group verbs (-ir)
h. Third group verbs (-re)
Read chapters, underline 10 verbs of each group. Conjugate all the 30 verbs in your Home Work note-
book.
5) Make a list of 30 adjectives. Change them to Masculine, Feminine, Masculine Plural and Feminine
Plural in your Home Work note-book.
6) Children
This year our school has taken one of the most important issues of these days i.e. “Gender Sensitization”.
It refers to modification of behavior by raising awareness about gender equality concerns. Gandhiji once
said, “India will obtain full freedom on the day women can walk safely at night”. Very true. Let us all
resolve and work to transform our country into a safe and dignified place for all women and men.
Let our school lead the nation in achieving Gandhi‟s „full freedom‟. A nation wherein every woman walks
at any time not only safely but without any shame, indignity and disrespect.
Let us through our deeds and behavior display zero tolerance, violence in any form against women.
Let us resolve that we shall indeed create an India free of fear, violence and discrimination against girl
child. For this event you need to make some charts/ models/ collage. Topics are written in front of your
name.
