A job turned into a career and 38 years later Tom Ramirez is retiring. In 1995 he was put in charge of refuse. The Town of Normal is better today because of Tom's management and proactive approach. It was the labor intensiveness of collection and a concern for his people as well support from the Town Council and Administration to pursue more efficient means that led to his decision to try automation. It was a proactive decision and a wise one. It has optimized manpower and saved the Town money. More importantly, operators no longer moved to other departments but stayed in refuse providing stability in the collection of recycle and refuse. Best wishes to Tom and his family in his retirement. Key Equipments salutes him and the Town of Normal. Dennis Dunbar Dennis will be 62 years young at the end of December.
