Pashkov HouseThe Pashkov House is the famous Neoclassical mansion that stands on a hill overlooking the western wall of the Moscow Kremlin, near
the crossing of the Mokhovaya and Vozdvizhenka streets. Its design has been attributed to Vasily Bazhenov. It used to be
home to the Rumyantsev Museum (Moscow's first public museum) in the 19th century. The palace's current owner is the Russian State
Library.

Catherine Palace (Moscow)The Catherine Palace is a Neoclassical residence of Catherine II of Russia on the bank of the Yauza River in Lefortovo, Moscow. It should not be confused with the
much more famous Catherine Palace in Tsarskoye Selo. The residence is also known as the Golovin Palace, after its first owner, Count
Fyodor Golovin, the first Chancellor of the Russian Empire. After his death Empress Anna commissioned Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli to replace the Golovin Palace
with a Baroque residence known as Annenhof. This was Anna's preferred residence. It consisted of two wooden two-storey buildings, the Summer Palace and the
Winter Palace.Annenhof was abandoned after a fire in 1746. Catherine II, who found both edifices rather old-fashioned and dilapidated, ordered their demolition in the 1760s. After 1773 Karl Blank, Giacomo Quarenghi and Francesco Camporesi were the architects
employed to supervise the construction of a Neoclassical residence in Lefortovo

The circus building was opened as the Solomonsky Circus on 20 October 1880. The circus is one of the oldest circuses in Russia. Known by a variety of names during the Soviet period, the troupe was awarded the Order of Lenin in 1939.
Among the famous performers who worked there were the clowns Karandash, Oleg Popov, and Yury Nikulin. Nikulin managed the company for fifteen years, and it has borne his name since his death in 1997. In front of the building is a remarkable statue of Nikulin, whose son has managed the circus since his death. Valentin Gneushev was the circus choreographer in the late 1990s.
