WHAT IS THE HODDLE WADDLE?

The Hoddle Waddle is a way of exploring the city of Melbourne, discovering sites located around ‘Hoddle’s grid’

You will visit sites that are both historic, and contemporary

Just try not to get lost on the way . . .

DOING THE HODDLE WADDLE:

When you do the Hoddle Waddle you will be divided into small teams that each follow their own set of clues.

Each team has a:

» Photographer

» Navigator

» Journalist

» Editor

» Timekeeper

You can find out more about these roles in your team worksheets

AFTER THE HODDLE WADDLE:

After you complete the Hoddle Waddle you might want to use the photos that you have taken along the way to construct a Photo Story.

You will know when some good photo opportunities are coming up when you see this symbol on your team worksheet:

USING THE CATALOGUE

To use the catalogue, just type in what you want to search for in the white box.

You can restrict your search to only look for pictures by using the ‘pictures’ tab at the top.

Different tabs are to search for different item types

The search bar is just like a search engine on the web. Just type in what you’re looking for and click Go

USING THE IMAGES

When you find an image that you like, you can click a link to ‘view online’ if it is digitised.

If you want to use the image in your Photo Story, you can just right click on it and choose ‘Save image as . . .’

USING PHOTOSTORY

If you don’t have the Photo Story 3 program, you can download it for free from the

Microsoft website.

The program is really easy to use, just upload your photos and add text, narration and music to create your story.

There is more information about how to use Photo Story 3 on the web.
