Project Scope (PSS) Deadline Changes

The TSC has decided to change the PSS deadline For projects other than investigative and reaffirmations, to

submit a Notification of Intent to Ballot (NIB), your PSS must have been approved by TSC a minimum of four weeks before the start of the WGM that precedes the NIB deadline

JIC / ISO / CEN Motions from International Council The HL7 Board supported two motions submitted by the International

Council. HL7 will continue working with the JIC. But will seek improvements in

the focus, mission and governance of the JIC. HL7 will work to strengthen it’s relationship with ISO TC 215 and CEN

TC 251.

Business Model Task Force

Andrew Truscott provided an update from the proposed business model task force. The group has created a multi-layered model that will be used to

guide HL7 International’s organizational reinvigoration. Next Steps:

Engage the International Council to discuss Affiliate implementation models

Enlarge the working group to fill in the details Report back on the plan at the May Board meeting

FHIR Product Family

Grahame Grieve, FHIR Product Director provided an update to the board on the FHIR specification. He indicated that we will likely see a transition in

interest from the base standard to implementation guides, as the base standard become normative.

He encouraged the board to think about enabling alternative pathways for Implementation Guide development, which are less onerous, when ANSII accreditation is not required.
