    Academic ProfilesJoel Brennan (trumpet) has performed as asoloist and orchestral musician throughoutNorth America, Europe, Asia, andAustralia. Prior to starting his currentposition as Lecturer in Brass at MelbourneUniversity, Joel taught at Brandon

    University (Canada) and served as principaltrumpet of the Hyogo Performing ArtsCenter Orchestra (Japan) and AmsterdamSymphony Orchestra (the Netherlands).His interest in advancing the trumpetrepertoire has lead to numerous projectsincluding a Fulbright Grant (Netherlands,2007) and the establishment of the ReveilleTrumpet Collective. He holds degrees fromOberlin Conservatory of Music and YaleUniversity (USA).

    Ken Murray (guitar), has developed asingular career as a guitarist combiningperformance, composition, teaching andresearch. He has championed andrecorded Spanish music from the earlytwentieth century, worked extensively withcontemporary Australian composers andhas been active as a performer of Brazilianand South American musical styles. Hegraduated PhD from the University ofMelbourne, where he is Lecturer in Guitarat the Melbourne Conservatorium ofMusic. His PhD thesis is titled SpanishMusic and its Representations in London(1878-1930): From the Exotic to theModern.
