History of computer I think it is fair to say that computers have become the most empowering tool man have ever created. They are tools of communication they are tools of creativity and they can be shaped by their users” The topic of my speech is computers. Abacus can be considered as the first computer which emerged 5000 years ago and is still in use. This device allows user to perform mathematical operations using beads arranged on a rack. The first electronic computer was invented in 1940 and used vacuum tubes its name was ENIAC. It was created by john.V.Atanasoff and Clifford Berry this computer weighted 30 tons. 2 nd generation of computers was created in 1951and it was the first time they were introduced to the public. Its name was UNIVAC. These computers had memory and operating system. 3 rd generation of computers used IC chips which made the computer powerful reliable and they were able to run different programs at the same point. The inventions of computers have revolutionized businesses and personal activities. There are many advantages of computer. The users can perform many tasks at one time because of computer and internet people can communicate with their families and friends in different countries. Computers help students in education. It gives us very reliable information and instead of buying books we can read them online. It is a good source of entertainment we can see movies on computer instead of buying TVs or going to cinemas. Computers also have many disadvantages. Computers disconnect us from the outside world and because of this many diseases take place for e.g. back ache, short sightedness and obesity. It gives easy access to illegal things. It reduces human contact your personal information is not safe. Hackers can hack the data easily.
