INTRODUCTION
An automobile is a self propelled vehicle driven by an internal combustion engine.
Used for the transportation of passengers and goods on the earth.
Automobile engineering is a branch of engineering in which we study all about the automobiles and have practice to propel them.
Mobile or Motive which means one which can move. Automobile means which itself can move. Different names for automobile are,

ORIGINE OF THE WORD
Automobile comes via the French language, from the Greek language.
By combining Auto [Self] and mobiles [moving].The alternative word car is believed to originate from
the Latin word “Carrus or Carrum [wheeled vehicle]”.

Steam-powered self-propelled vehicles were devised in the late 17th century.
Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot A French Engineer demonstrated an
experimental steam-driven artillery tractor, in 1770 and 1771. Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot is called as the Father of
Automobile.
