Vaccines have become a vital part of
our overall health and well-being.
Since vaccines have been created,
they have saved millions of lives and
eradicated some of the world’s most
deadly diseases. However, in recent
years the number of individuals who
choose not to vaccinate themselves
and their children has increased. This
has caused some of these diseases to
return.

Vaccines For Life is a group devoted to
providing health education about the
importance of vaccines for men, women,
and children living in the Greater Boston
area. The program is a partner of the
health organization Partners in Health.
This organization seeks to provide the
Greater Boston community with the
information necessary to make informed
decisions about vaccinations for
themselves and their families. We work to
break down the myths that keep people
from protecting themselves from serious,
often deadly, diseases. We also work to
provide low cost immunizations to young
children in need.
Infectious diseases, such as measles, are
extremely contagious and come with
severe symptoms. Those that are not
vaccinated or have weakened immune
systems are at a higher risk than those that
are vaccinated. Without this barrier that
vaccinations provide, those individuals that
fall under this category are putting
themselves at risk for severe illness which
may require hospitalization or possibly
cause death in the most severe cases.
Vaccines are the best tools available for
preventing disease in both children and
adults. Vaccines prevent infectious
diseases in 95% of cases. If a vaccinated
person does become ill, their illness will be
much less severe than if they had not been
vaccinated at all. In either case, vaccines
protect the lives of millions of people
throughout the world.
Are these diseases really that serious?
