Peace by Colin Wiese Donated to the community by the artist, a local Lockhart farmer, this amazing sculpture is dedicated to the memory of the spirit of rural people affected by war, and to the establishment of a lasting peace in the world. 12. Click Goes The Shears by Stuart Spragg This impressive artwork, constructed from iron, timber, copper and glass, won People’s Choice at the 2009 Spirit of the Land Festival and now hangs in pride of place on the facade of Greens Gunyah Museum. 13. Greens Gunyah Museum & Doris Golder Wool Art Discover unique collections with their own story to tell including artefacts from Brookong Station, scene of the 1888 Shearer’s Riot. The Doris Golder Wool Art Gallery features incredible wool portraits and landscapes. 14. Heritage Verandahs and Etched Pavers Wander under historic Federation verandahs, read the stories of original shopfronts and discover more than 400 etched pavers, artistically displaying a visual record of the social history of Lockhart and the surrounding district. 15. Get Around Back by Stuart Spragg Made from cut and layered sheets of corrugated iron, assembled to reflect a typical Australian working sheep yard, this remarkable piece won the 2008 National Farm Art Awards at the Spirit of the Land Festival. 16. Horse Power by Stuart Taylor Winner of the 2011 National Farm Art Awards at the Spirit of the Land Festival, this life size horse sculpture is made from recycled farm metal and is one of three sculptures by Stuart Taylor on permanent display in the CWA Park. 17. Emu Family by Stuart Taylor Set in the CWA Park amongst purposely planted native vegetation, the finely detailed Emu Family reflects some of the iconic Australian animals which make their home in natural habitats throughout Lockhart Shire. 18. Bonnie Dog by Stuart Taylor The inspiring Bonnie Dog sculpture beautifully captures the moment a family dog responds to a call for attention. This sculpture was named winner of the 2012 National Farm Art Awards at the Spirit of the Land Festival. 19. Australian Rain Dragon by Andrew Whitehead The captivating Australian Rain Dragon was winner of the 2009 National Farm Art Awards at the Spirit of the Land Festival and is now located in prime position at one of Lockhart’s entrances to keep watch over the town. 20. Pastoral Shadows of Brookong Made up of more than 20 individual sculptures, this circular walk is a pictorial trail of Lockhart's great pastoral history, creating a story through rusted iron, scraps of metal, and other natural materials. Inland Pelicans by Bob Teasdale Winner of the EE ‘Curly’ Heckendorf Award at the 2015 Spirit of the Land Festival, this wonderful bird sculpture commemorates the site of the Lockhart Bird Aviary which graced Hodgson Park for many years. 1. Pioneers Memorial Gateway

Unveiled in 1962 as a tribute to the early pioneer

settlers, this impressive monument features 22 life sized

replica bales of wool, each bearing the stencilled wool

brands of the original sheep stations in the district.

2. The Eagle by Stuart Taylor

This majestic eagle, perched high above native grasses

ready to swoop, was pieced together using scrap

metal materials collected by the artist from local

clearing sales. Donated to the community in 2014.

3. The 9 Martyrs by John Wood

Installed in October 2008, the discs on this sculpture

represent the nine shearers imprisoned with hard

labour following the 1888 Brookong Station Shearer’s

Riot between shearers and the pastoralist ‘wool kings’.

4. Going to the Dance by Stuart Spragg

This captivating sculpture, incorporating a mix of

corrugated iron, colours and car parts, was awarded

Highly Commended at the 2014 Spirit of the Land

Festival. Donated to the town by local business owners.

5. My Waratah by Raeleen Pfeiffer

Winner of the 2014 Contemporary Sculpture Awards at the

Spirit of the Land Festival, this stunning piece was selected

for the town by His Excellency General The Honourable

David Hurley AC DCS (Retd), Governor General of NSW.

6. Good Old Days by Keith Simpson

Made from recycled scrap metal including boilers,

chains, mesh, springs, gas bottles, tail shafts and left over

wood, this rustic masterpiece won the National Farm Art

Awards at the 2010 Spirit of the Land Festival.

7. Lockhart Love Locks

Where better to leave a love lock than at the Lockhart

Love Locks, set by the banks of Brookong Lagoon! A fun

and interactive way to remember your visit, there’s even

a quaint Wishing Well for your key.

8. Rusty Cockatoo by Sean Meaney (2016 only)

The winner of the most recent Spirit of the Land Festival is

displayed on this site for 12 months. The 2015 Winner,

Rusty Cockatoo, captures the characteristics of this well

loved native bird perched on a gumtree.

9. The Mob by David Doyle

Just one of many sculptures donated to the town by

Lockhart & District Community Bendigo Bank, this

fantastic display of a mob of bounding kangaroos is

perfectly located at the edge of Brookong Lagoon

and the Lockhart Caravan Park.
