Church Hill is an historic district of Richmond, VA where the St. John's Episcopal Church stands tall. St. John's Episcopal Church is the site where Patrick Henry gave his speech "give me liberty or give me death."
On March 23, 1775 during his speech on Church Hill he presented resolutions which stated, "into a posture of defense, embodying, arming, and disciplining such a number of men may be sufficient for that purpose." After stating the Resolutions, votes were taken and passed by a by a small margin which joined Virginia in the American Revolution.
