The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley will be celebrating its 50th anniversaryin 2005. To commemorate this extraordinary accomplishment, the Hispanic Chamber ofCommerce is planning a series of special events throughout the year.
Beginning in the spring, the 50th Anniversary Gala, to be held June 25, 2005, promises tobe one of our biggest celebratory events in the history of the Chamber. Then in the fall, theHispanic Chamber will cap its anniversary with BRIDGE 2005: Business Conference andTechnology Expo. The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s previous expos have attracted over150 exhibitors and drew attendance of more than 2000 people comprised mostly of businessowners and professional.
These events will serve to recognize the ongoing support of Corporate America, governmentofficials and agencies, community groups, individuals and businesses of all sizes that havecontributed to the longevity and continuing success of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerceat both the local and national level.
We invite you to partner with us to celebrate our 50th anniversary year by becoming a featuredcorporate sponsor at one or both of the following premier events. Of the 403,400 Hispanics in Santa Clara County in 2002, 50% are between5 years to 29 years old, which represent a significant Kindergarten toCollege age population.
Furthermore, approximately one-fourth are between the ages of 18-25 ANDover 55% are between the ages of 18-49. Excluding Undocumented Workers,the general Hispanic population is expected to reach somewhere between500,000-600,000 by 2005.
As an Emerging Domestic Market, this population aggregately possessesover $5 Billion in Consumer Purchasing Power representing one of the largestADI’s, Designated Market and Metropolitan Areas in the Country.
The 2000 Census reported 90,457 Hispanic Households in Santa ClaraCounty with an Average Annual Median Income of $55,572 and a potentialConsumer Market of over 380,000 existing and future customers.
This unique Market Segment has an average median age of 26.1 yearscompared to the Countywide average of 34, and has an average Householdsize of 4.2 compared to the Countywide average of 2.9 representing oneof the youngest and largest Household sectors in California and theSouthwestern Region.
The 1997 Economic Census identified 12,927 Hispanic Business Enterprises(HBE) in Santa Clara County, generating in excess of $1 billion in payroll. It is projected that today there is somewhere between 18,000 to 22,000HBE with payrolls possibly reaching $1.5 billion!
This lucrative Small Business Sector in 1997 generated over $5 Billion inAnnual Sales, employed approximately 65,000 potential consumers andrepresents one out of every three Minority Owned businesses in the County.Furthermore, it is projected that by 2005 HBEs will surpass $8 Billion inAnnual Sales and employ over 80,000 workers!
