In a state as large and diverse as Queensland, identifying and promoting excellence in healthcare is a difficult task, but one that Clinical Excellence Queensland is proud to undertake. Our annual Clinical Excellence Showcase is one way we connect people with great ideas, presenting the best home-grown initiatives that have proven capacity for scale and spread.

The showcase has become a premier networking opportunity and ‘must-attend’ event for clinicians, health service managers, policy makers and researchers who share an interest in how innovation in service delivery is contributing to measurable improvements in patient care.

We are excited to announce the Clinical Excellence Showcase 2020 (CES2020) will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 5-6 March 2020. With growth in attendance year-on-year we expect the CES2020 to be even larger and more thought provoking than ever, with some 600 delegates and dozens of presentations.

Clinical Excellence Queensland is proud to offer sponsorship opportunities for the first time in the showcase’s four-year history. This is an invaluable opportunity for you to build awareness of your organisation amongst an audience of healthcare professionals and health system leaders and decision makers from right across the state.

This sponsorship prospectus outlines opportunities for meaningful delegate conversations and engagement as well as brand awareness, positioning and lead generation. These are limited, exclusive investment options so we encourage you to act fast to take advantage of this unique opportunity.

“Queensland Health is rich with an abundance of great projects that are improving the way we deliver care. It’s about how we can harness that excellence and spread it far and wide so more Queenslanders can benefit.”

Professor Keith McNeilA/Deputy Director-General, Clinical Excellence Queensland

Clinical Excellence Queensland partners with health services, clinicians and consumers in their continual pursuit of healthcare excellence. We do this by identifying, monitoring and promoting improvements in the quality of health services delivered by public and private service providers globally, and within Queensland. By facilitating the diffusion of best-practice clinical standards, processes and healthcare technology within our hospitals we are helping to create solutions for better healthcare.

Professor Louise CullenConsultant, Metro North Hospital and Health Service

“If we hadn’t engaged with Clinical Excellence Queensland we wouldn’t have had the foot up to take what we know works in theory and put it into practice and test it – and quite revolutionise the way we recognise chest pain in Queensland Health.”

CES2020 will be the fourth showcase since the inaugural event in 2017 and will bring together more than 600 health staff from across Queensland. The 2020 showcase theme is Hindsight is 2020: how we’re learning from the past to shape our future. Delegates will hear from teams from across Queensland on their proven methodology or initiative that is helping to ensure we have a safe, sustainable health system well into the future.

Our conference format is a proven success with delegates appreciating the flexibility in being able to attend sessions of interest to them and directly (or indirectly) engage with speakers and other guests. Our interactive event app (CEQ Events) facilitates this engagement by allowing delegates to ask questions, vote on their favourite presentation, and share photos and thoughts.

Concurrent sessions form the bulk of the program in order to maximise the opportunities to showcase the outstanding work being done across the state. Plenary sessions set the scene with inspiring and motivating keynote addresses or bring the crowd together for our hugely popular and entertaining Great Debate. The debate features some of the biggest names in Queensland Health who put forward their (often humorous) answers to key questions like will robots replace clinicians? and who’s running healthcare: bureaucrats or clinicians? The 2020 debate theme is expected to focus on whether hospitals as we know them will cease to exist in 50 years.

The Clinical Excellence Showcase demonstrates that CEQ has its finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest and greatest healthcare innovations in Queensland. Our event attracts staff from all levels of the system, across numerous professions. Researchers, managers, clinicians and departmental staff all come together to celebrate the positive work of our colleagues. Importantly, thanks to funding from CEQ, staff from all over the state have the opportunity to attend. This inclusivity and statewide focus make the showcase a one-of-a-kind event.
