Highway Safety Analysis: a data driven activity

As with all other aspects of transportation engineering,

highway safety analysis is becoming more data driven,

since data provide the most meaningful guidance in how,

where, and what happened in the real world - if they are

accurately collected. The technology advancements in

recent years have greatly enhanced the efficiency and

quality of crash data collecting process, which makes

safety analysis more data-dependent and reliable.
