Before and After904 MLK JR. BOULEVARDThe target appearance for this location is to relocate existing fea-tures and add new vegetation to create a more unique and al-luring appearance. Cleaning up the street front and adding new vegetation gives a welcoming impression. Vegetation also helps define lot boundaries while not fully cutting off views. Plant screenings soften noises coming from HVAC systems and provide shade for all surfaces making the site cooler and more enjoyable.

Before and After913 MLK JR. BOULEVARDThis business needs minimal improvements. As you can see in the before photo, they are already making improvements. The one improvement that will make the most difference is screening the lot behind the building. It will frame their business and help make it more inviting to customers. The vegetation around the front will improve customer traffic as well.

Before and AfterMEDIAN DESIGNThe object of this section of road is to create a better sense of con-nectivity for pedestrian traffic while slowing vehicular traffic. Pedestrian connectivity will be given a boost by the continuation of existing sidewalk infrastructure. The installation of a raised, planted median will help slow traffic between business sections, making this stretch of road safer and more visually appealing to all passers by.

Before and After1101 MLK JR. BOULEVARDThe new appearance for this site comes from the relocation of the parking lot, painting of the building facade and addition of screening structures and vegetation. Relocating the parking to the side of the building allows for more potential parking spaces while opening up the front for outdoor seating and/or plant-ings to make the site more hospitable. The plant suggestions offer shading and screening providing site definition and comfort.
