Highland Golfing. Moray golfing is reputed to have more sun-

shine hours then any other part of the British Isles. Match that with

a championship links and you have the ideal locality for a golfing

vacation.

Royal Dornoch :- Though not in Moray, heads the list of courses

on the roster, and is viewed by many as the mystical course hid-

den in the Scottish Highlands. Largely the inspiration of Old Tom

Morris in 1866, this great par 70 links wrapped around the curving

bay of the Dornoch Firth, will demand your full attention.

Castle Stuart:- Second on the famed Moray golf roster is Castle

Stuart Golf Links, a newcomer on the highland golf scene, offer-

ing a modern links-scape with exciting views of the Black Isle,

Kessock Bridge and Chanonry Light across the Moray Firth that

will surely stray the golfers eye. So young, yet already serving as

host to two Scottish Opens, Castle Stuart has become a favorite of

international golfers looking for championship seaside golf.

Moray Golf Club:- Besides but not too far behind the very best

highland golf, is Moray Golf club, often known as Lossiemouth, a

fabulous links whose closing holes seem to march into the town

center, and often to the tune of a Scottish piper playing nearby.

Elgin Golf Club:- A change of scenery to a testing heathland

course, as fast as any links, offers the alternative view of the local

countryside and claims to the finest inland course of all the high-

lands.

Forres Golf Club:- Open winners of the early days, Willie Park

and James Braid are credited with this par seventy picturesque

forested layout. Host to the numerous Northern Open and Scottish

Professional Championships is a testimony to its strength and

popularity.
