Review the central truth, the memory verse, prayer and confessions, and read the Bible Story with scripture references indicated under the power outlets. As this is done each day, let your child color in or put a sticker on the power outlet located on the back of the devotional. At the end of the week please sign as proof of completion and return to the teacher. Children who complete 3 weeks Power Cords in a month will have their picture posted in the foyer of Power Source and their name in the newsletter.

Respect for Godly authority produces the greatest kind of faith.

James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Father God,

Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor Ron, and his family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my parents so things will go well with me and I will live a long life on the earth. I will tell how great you are and how much I love you. I thank You that by Jesus’ stripes I am healed.

In Jesus' name,Amen

God does not oppose me because I am not proud. He gives me grace because I am humble. I Peter 5:5c

Whatsoever things are true and honest, just, pure, and lovely; whatsoever things are of a good report…I think on these things. Philippians 4:8

I am faithful in that which is another man’s, and I shall have that which is my own. I Peter 1:18-19

Obedience to God’s Word releases the power of God in our lives. The Roman centurion was a commanding officer over one hundred soldiers. When he came to Jesus asking him to heal his servant, he came believing in Jesus as the Son of God. He knew that Jesus obeyed His Father and because of His obedience the sickness would obey His Word. The Centurion knew that when he gave orders to his soldiers that they would obey because they knew that he was backed up by the Roman Empire. Rome was governed by an unbroken authority that flowed from the emperor’s throne to the lowest ranking officer. This man understood that his own authority to command the men beneath him was because of his submission to the authority above him. Jesus recognized this understanding as faith in Jesus. When we obey those who God places in authority over us, Heaven backs us up.
